I'm wondering about something related to Garry's Mod. Steam tells me that it requires a Source Engine game. Now I have Team Fortress 2 installed, which is free to play, will Garry's Mod work on that? Reason for asking is because it's not on the Steam list of Source Engine games, but that's probably due to the game being free to play I guess.

Not according to the steam list, but found a post 2years+ ago thats say you cant but its a bit risky unless you wanna buy half-life2 or something cheap other than garrys mod.
I've been reading about it and the general opinion is that is a good game but has 2 major cons:
* The DLC can only be bought through GFWL.
* If you want to get 100% of the achivements you must get the DLC.

Hmm, maybe installing the Orange Box works, even though it's not a legit copy.
I actually had to buy Torchlight 2 because of the stupid Steam Workshop, the only way to get mods is through Steam and you have to actually own the game.
Yeah it's very clever. Almost a form of DRM but one that's entirely justifiable, as downloading mods requires an internet connection anyway, so it might as well be through their servers. Cracking groups have no interest in ripping and maintaining a collection of user made mods.
I love the idea that providing mod support, a well loved PC mainstay, could be a viable and far more effective alternative to the progressively worse DRM that is being pushed onto us. Everyone wins, right?
I would have considered it a victory for myself if I didn't have to pay $5 for the sole purpose of accessing mods.
But on the bright side, it's better than intrusive DRM and from a piracy perspective it's totally optional -- the pirated copy works fine without mods, obviously.
dunno about the US, but here in the UK skyrim legendary is already cheaper than the steam offer at it's regular price at retailers. So it doesn't seem like a great deal.
Hmmm, 40% off from Skyrim Legendary Edition. Not sure to buy now. I'm afraid it's gonna be on Flash Sale in the next 3 days for 66% off..
Has been cheaper on greenman gaming since pre order. Don't see a reason to buy it on steam sale for more. Or you could just pick it up in any random retail store like Setroc said.
This steam summer sale is expensive as fuck compared to other sites like I said at least 5 times in this thread by now. So far only games that has been worth the money is 3-4 year old games for 2€-5€.
What games are worth getting? Doesn't have to be the top sale ones, but other games in general. Been browsing a bit through their catalog but can't find much that interests me, so I take it I must be missing something. Any recommendations?
Torchlight II is currently cheap, The Walking Dead is nice as a Point-and-Click adventure, GTA IV Complete Edition, Fall Out New Vegas Ultimate Edition, CS:GO. All AAA-games for less then €10,-
Also bought ACII DeLuxe Edition for €2,49, besides de crappy uPlay and steamlauncher it doesn't require an always-online connection anymore.

Buy HL: DM it was also on sale and gives you the source engine. Not played in yrs as most servers were dead.
