Current moment in life, pay for my brothers ashes to be buried, pay for IVf and throw the rest towards some bills.

If it was in a years time and I finally had some luck this year, id throw it on my home loan.

I'd probably hesitate a bit less to go to those fancy restaurants.

I think I'd keep £15k for personal reasons, holidays or experiences etc. The rest I'd use to help my immediate family financially and alleviate the pressures from their financial situation.

I'd buy a sweet HiFi system, donate a month or two to TBy, then put the rest in the bank.

well, that's about 29000€ ...not a whole lot, really, probably pay back some loans, buy a decent PC for my girlfriend and invest the rest; perhaps leave 3k aside so she can start with her correspondence course;

if it was like 80k, i might try to buy myself into a friends business..

if it was around 200k, i'd buy property that has been in the family for almost 130 years and is about to go on sale

I'd invest the lot into a cash ISA or put it down towards a house.

Rent a better appartment and put the rest in savings for when I can afford to buy place for myself =)

I would probably move to america and spend all the money on getting myself a couple of lawyers and then sue the state of california for the sun being to hot and make a couple of million dollars.

I'd buy the right to live in an apartment in Stockholm - o wait, thats at least 200k, likely 350k for something nice and then another 50k for renovating.

I'd buy something for myself and the gf, probably some furniture / kitchen utensils or w / e.. Then save the rest in bank account... Maybe research how to invest intelligently.

You can only use £5,760 of that this year.

"If you suddenly came into a lot of money......."

I count jackpot money as "a lot of money"
the sum you mention is what you get when your parents die or something

I cant imagine what to do with so little, maybe pay off the loan on the car? lol

different times my man, avg 23 year old today is still in college or with some worthless degree, in debt, living with parents, with little to no good job prospects. or doing slightly better on their own or with roommates struggling to pay all their bills in some shitty house/apartment driving some crap car. huge majority of people under 25 and many under 30 with kids are and will be horribly unprepared for life.  make enough to just get by now, but some day retirement time will come and they'll have nothing for themselves all the while offering the bare minimum to their kids through life.

i'm pretty close to not having any of those issues and 30 is still plenty far off  *fingers crossed*

Im with s4l on this, there is really no reason to have a kid(s) until you are at least 30 and are more financially secure to provide for them. You at the very least need to have enough to get health insurance and pay for a private school.

phff.  adopt 17 yr olds and kick them out in a year.  Now you get the benefits of claiming them while barely seeing them.

#1536535 by EagleEyezDonor (Power User) at 2013-07-21 22:24:36 (6 days ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

I would sell all my stuff and buy an apartment

Maybe boys.  17 yr old daughters are the pinnacle of worry and pain-in-the-assishness.

No worries man. Prepare them for a job interview when they turn 18 and everything will be fine.
