Under The Dome

Basically 'The Simpsons Movie' premise as a tv show, worth a watch in the boring dead summer tv season.

*edit* Bonus points for Hank from Breaking Bad being in it.

You know what's gonna suck, that it's going to be all about the family drama, tension, yadda yadda. Which obviously is what it's supposed to be about but it's just not appealing anymore, is it. It might just as well be 'A Small Town with a Bad Dude running it and Decent People trying their best affected by Vaguely Mysterious or Apocalyptic Circumstances which are never really explained except when a deus ex machina is necessary'. Whatever happened to, you know, actual scifi or mystery shows...

I predict episodes filled with nothing but stupid human shit in that town and 10s commited to the dome it self in each episode. Bleh

I hope it will be good ,it`s based on Under the Dome a science fiction novel by Stephen King, published in November 2009.

oh but it can suck as the story "the Mist" was shit when they made it a movie.

It's okie to pass the time and I must say it's miles ahead of Siberia
but a better show to watch is Ray Donovan probably the best thing on right now.

That's the impression I got from the first episode as well.  There's going to be too much non-dome related BS.

CBS posted this on their website which is kind of smart to avoid the audience from focusing on the glaringly obvious problems of water and oxygen.

Does summer scifi mean they don't need to bother with actual television tho? =/

I've checked this series out, watched the second episode a couple of days ago.

It's not too bad, especially since there isn't a great deal else that's on at the moment! It's great that it's got Dean Norris (Hank from Breaking Bad) in it, since he's brilliant in BB! I'm looking forward to seeing his character play out and see where they go with the whole story. I definitely want to find out more about the dome and where it came from...

It's a little early for me to make a final on judgement on the show. I need to give it a little time to develop I think!

Judging by the amounts of drama and Excitement! (TM), I'm predicting another record-breaking episode. Will watch the season finale to see if they figure out the dome, but as has been said, with high ratings we'll probably get closure in a rushed S8 finale.

It's a mini-series there are only 13 episodes no second season etc.

Oh, that is most excellent. Judging by qbert's comments, I assumed otherwise. Despite the stuff I dislike, the few seconds dedicated to the dome in each episode I find enjoyable.

oops upon further research it seems this might go the way of the Vikings mini-series

Quote:

But one element that fans might be curious about is the ending. We won’t spoil it here, but the novel does give Under the Dome a somewhat limited timeline – one that could easily be completed in 13 hour-long episodes. However, Deadline says CBS isn’t going to use the book’s ending, because they want another season of the series if it’s successful.

OMG....I'm not watching a second season of this.  :slap:

At the end of this season I'll be looking for book spoilers.
