Anybody Know anything about the new laws in Norway regarding downloading movies? My question is_ is it safe to download if you live in Norway? Thanks in advance glesneskumar.

For safety, I just bought a VPN a few days ago.
The chance of getting caught might not be high, but paying 40$ a year for a VPN isn't really that much. Sleeping a bit better at night is totally worth it :p

Im norwegian to,so it considers me to.
I dont know what vpn is tho,and how can vpn be affective against dl stuff?
im guessing it somehow hides your IP so it cant be traced back to where I live.
but how and what do I need?

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it outside of public trackers, at least for a good while.

And then it still depends on the content. Norwegian content is the more likely target.

Quick search on here or google would tell you everything you could possibly want to know and alot more, rather than someone typing it all up for you.

Its a virtual private network so you tunnel through it to access the internet and the IP anyone sees is the VPN service, not yours.

It wasn't safe before.. Only thing that has changed is that private companies can now request information from your ISP or similar(through a court). IMO we'll probably see a few examples, then it goes dormant. Depends on Tajik and how jihad her mood is.
