I think the proper word is chauvinism or jingoism. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chauvinism)...But is not the case here.
Accepting immigration is like inviting someone into your house is like sharing your home with him.And I don`t think is wise to say nothing when your guest take a dump on your table.It`s your home ,your house you build it.You must stand up, no matter if we are talking about a religious minority or a culture minority, it`s nothing racist or chauvinistic about that.
By saying nothing only make things worst, tension will grow up to the boiling point when really racist thinks will happen. Or maybe you will be "kick out" from your own home.
This all started with the sharia law enforcing on the streets, a few months back. I remember saying then that this was either stopped with unprecedented force or it would escalate eventually. Unfortunately, i think i was right...
Someone spoke out and got banned. Had the same user said the same comment he would also have been banned (selective moderating).

I cant believe you even have to ask that question. Incidentally you asked a question therefore obviously seeking an answer. Is it stubbornness or have you just completely lost the plot not see that you were wrong and merited that comment earlier? That's a rhetorical question.
I happen to think those actions reflect just whats wrong in British society, a small group can say and do what they want and get away with it while the majority just have to sit back and accept it even though it is blatantly wrong. It is during these times that people show their true colors.
I just hope the Woolwich attack was an isolated incident and this doesn't turn into some kind of tit for tat.

As a general rule only Special Branch carry firearms.
Policing in the UK is slightly less dangerous as we have laws restricting the ownership of firearms for civilians.
Therefore, the argument is that most police folk won't need a firearm. They do carry the standard extendible baton and sometimes a taser.
As for soldiers carrying firearms off-base, they are military; and it's not the job of the military to enforce civilian law unless its to bolster law enforcement personnel, therefore they also don't need to carry firearms off-base.
Also don't forget it only takes one bad apple going on a shooting spree in either the armed forces or law enforcement agencies to call for a review of firearms policies and investigations into 'how/why it happened' as well as all sorts of political BS which goes along with it, so sensibly a decision was made that no one should carry a firearm - the exception as mentioned above being SB and a few others.
Generally, incidents like this aren't as common as the media would like you to believe; they happen about once a year maybe once every two/three years.
But the gullible tend to buy into it and call into why people aren't armed, the very same people would complain quite vocally if a squaddy or bobby went on a rampage with a firearm.
For the most part, the system in the UK is quite sensible; it's just the right balance between security and freedom.
But we get the occasional blip like this...

You kind of answered it yourself by stating the peace loving Muslims, allot is also down to fear. With any group there is always an element of fear of retribution, especially when dealing with such extremists. People always "bite their tongue" be it fear of their life, their wealth, their position. Hell even on this site people stop using the forums for fear of losing their accounts if they speak their minds. That's just human nature.

That's a strange video.
Firstly who shoots video in the middle of a town centre for no reason.
Two, there's clearly an altercation between an asian man and a man that seems to be with the pregnant woman.
Thirdly, after all parties are separated and questioned, then the woman is arrested.
I wouldn't be surprised if she had a go at the asian bloke, the other guy steps in to stop him having a go back.
The cops arrive and then decide to arrest her.
I'm surprised they didn't just caution them and tell them to go on their way.
But the police don't arrest someone for carrying a flag.

did you see the riots here over xmas when they took the union jack down from city hall in belfast? said it will only go up on national holidays, and the way unionist reacted was unreal, bunch of inbred retards outs in the streets destroying their own towns, all over NI, like the flag not being there would really make a difference to anyones lives
