guys there are more than 7 billion people around the world, more than 850 million people living in countries they were not born in. That means children of foreigners are not counted..then its more than 1.5 billion..
Many of us are living in very safe societies..and we are all hyper-connected.
While this was very tragic and absolutely horrible. Remember that we are living much much better/safer lives than a few generations ago. Despite the fact that we are globalizing.
For example..remember world war I and worldwar II.
In 1937-1945 about 73 million people died..thats almost an average of 10 million people a year. Vast majority of those were civilians..and the vast majority in this small contininent. (Europe).
Then we had world war I and the balkan wars.
We are many more people now, yet very little bloodshed compared to before. Thats why we tend to overreact.
Check all the conflicts from 1900-2012. You will see that the wars that are being fought today are very humane compared to previous ones.
There is no doubt in my mind that the arc of history is slow and at many times painful, but that it ultimately bends towards justice.
The world is not nearly as bad as some people say it is.
but that doesn't mean more can't be done. supporting mass immigration of peoples who hate the places they are going to is just one thing that should be better looked at.

I want all of our Police to be armed and for all of our Armed Forces to be able to carry their weapons with them. They have them on the battlefield...when the war comes to London, they should have their guns then too.

In the UK there is a fear of speaking out or even "standing up to" any minority, do so and you are labeled racist, it is crazy. We all know what racism is, hell it is prevalent in this thread, however in a reverse manner disagree and get banned.
Here there is a culture of accepting others even if they do not accept us or our culture.
The problem is the definition of a racist in my country is severely fucked up, as I have mentioned I would say Sniper comes across as 100% racist, that's his look out, everyone has an opinion. Someone spoke out and got banned. Had the same user said the same comment he would also have been banned (selective moderating). That mirrors opposite what the UK is like today, all non minorities are fair game, our acceptance for others is ridiculous. Yet they come here and force their views to be accepted yet do shit like hold protests when UK troops return from active duty, burn poppies and entice hate for their residential country and system, yet all the while reap the benefits. When a white man retaliates by painting a poppy on a mosque the punishment is severe. All the while members of said mosque can violate our liberties. It is almost as if these groups have more rights and some form of immunity.
It is a biased society, however the bias favors the minorities.
I don't think arming police or soldiers would make any kind of difference to this, what needs to change is attitudes and laws. That wont happen overnight. In the mean time we are stuck with nutters like this.
