heard get lucky today for the first time on the radio.
All I can say Is Jesus fucking Christ that might just be the worst thing I have ever heard. This isn't the fucking 70's guys.
Download some dumbstep instead, vbg
lol so the insults come out now because I dared to disagree with you?
For your information I do not like dubstep and in fact prior to this song I found daft punk not all that daft. But this song at least to me is too 70's, repetitive, boring and unimaginative. I simply found it god awful

I like the new song but then again I like almost all music. I'm also a massive mark for 70's disco
If I liked 70's funk/disco I'd probably like this too. But I despise that type of music second only to jazz so at least for me I really don't like it.

Try some Caro Emerald , may change your mind about Jazz, she is a Dutch Jazz artist and her stuff is pretty amazing, kinda up their with Amy Winehouse imho.
I can honestly say there isn't a genre of music I don't enjoy from death metal to classical to opera. Im not usualy big on daft punk but this one is pretty mellow imho

I agree with BoB At first I wasn't sure it was Daft Punk when I heard it on the radio, but it sounds pretty good. Caro Emerald makes good music too

I downloaded the album. Very well produced! A shame I don't have a subwoofer. What media player are you using? I'm using itunes (which i despise) since it allows me to stream to my receiver without going through windows or my sound card (airplay). are there any good alternatives (preferably able to play FLAC, too!)?
I don't know what to think about it really. Can't make my mind of it. A lot of tracks seems kind of meh to me and I guess its because I was waiting more songs like Get lucky, and the album version of that is insanely good! Trying to listen to it more tonight and maybe it will hit me. So far not really, no.

Totally agree, not what I expected. But will listen more to it later on. They lost their trademark sound, obviously :\

Give Life Back to Music (feat. Nile Rodgers)
Giorgio by Moroder (feat. Giorgio Moroder)
Lose Yourself To Dance (feat. Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers)
Okie so I downloaded the entire album hoping me not liking the single was a fluke because generally I like Daft Punk's earlier stuff.
I was wrong. As someone else pointed out they have lost their trademark sound and now it just sounds like two computer geeks channelling Earth Wind and Fire.
I seriously cannot for the life of me fathom posts like the one above this. Because at least to me this is completely unlistenable Maybe you guys missed the 70's the first time around and this is all a new sound for you but it sounds like my childhood regurgitated and modernized. I am sure many people will think it's "Brilliant" but I'd bet most of those people would think that an album of fart sounds set to digitized singing computer voices made by "Daft Punk" would be brilliant too.

Seriously, if you don't like it don't listen.End of story. I love daft punk and there trade mark sound. But this album is something different and its a change, i like changes. But again, its a taste in music, and we all know that you cant argue about someones taste in music. I see what they did , when i was listening the album you could feel nostalgia all over it. I like it. Its not the best but i like it.

I didn't like it and I deleted it.
But let me be clear I TRIED to like it. Maybe it was too retro and too different from what I expected from them. I still think there will be a lot of fans who will be disappointed with this new direction.
And of course musicians evolve as they grow older their sound matures and changes, but that isn't always good. Remember Metallica and load
