Their rocket might reach Australia, but it could never actually hit the country.  It's too small of a target for NK's tech.

The UK should send their biggest rocket to North Korea to , and to any North Koreans who do not fear this rocket here is a picture of it:

Finally somebody is starting to think.....

U.S. reducing rhetoric that feeds North Korean belligerence

This whole thing reminds me of this road rage video that made its way around the net a daay or so ago...

Now NK has said it cannot guarantee safety of the foreign diplomats starting from the 10th.

Quote:

North Korea has asked embassies to consider moving staff out and warned it cannot guarantee the safety of diplomats after April 10, Britain said, amid high tension and a war of words on the Korean peninsula.

I believe we should drop an atomic bomb on North Korea and try to isolate the damage only to North Korea.. Maybe a few casualties outside but over all world peace

I just wish NK would launch already, just so the SK and US can swat it out of the sky within minutes.

I don't. Even Nk's lost is bulletproof, they can kill hundreds of thousands civilians before they fall.

It's kinda impossible to isolate nuclear blast. When chernobyl melted we here in finland got radio active rains for a long time after it and in many places for example mushrooms and berrys were a nono to pick from the woods.
Asia is so dense in population that there is no way to avoid collateral damage which can be quite high.
But ofcourse if that is the only choice (like it was with japanese back in 40's) to win with acceptable losses for USA and it's allies, then a man gotta do what a man gotta do.

.

Agreed, NK has tens of thousands of artillery and missile batteries aimed at the major SK cities to cause catastrophic damage not to mention if they manage to get one of their short ranged missiles to carry a nuke payload. There has and will only be one thing that can prevent all of this and that is China pulling its leash on its rabid dog.

Which they have officially, ie. in UN by participating in the US led condemnations. And probably already have under the table, offering guarantees to both US and SKs government that they will intervene. I don't imagine your government would take it that "easy" if it wasn't for China's involvement at some level. I don't imagine China would risk its economic boost, because of some lunatic in the most isolated nation in the universe.

#1527211 by ezzy525Donor (Not a spy, just a mod.) at 2013-04-06 14:24:24 (3 months ago) - [Report]Top

The US needs to ensure NK cannot launch any sort of missile, and make sure that their conventional weapons pose no threat to SK. Isn't this exactly what the US have spent trillions on in the past 40 years? Advancing their technology to wipe out such a threat? Surgical strikes to wipe out NK's military. Then the South can begin reunification and help all those poor sods in the North who have been force fed propaganda about the rest of the world. Getting rid of the Kim's and all who support them is the only way forward.

Merely getting China to keep them quiet is what's best for us, but what about the millions who live there?

because unfortunately that isn't a political possibility, there is no way China would trade a puppet state (regardless of how insane they are) for a stronger unified Korea allied with the US on their border.

If Iran and North Korea were in Africa instead of the Middle East and next door to China they would have been bombed into the stone age years ago more than likely.

To recycle an old meme: Rockets? In my Africa? It's more likely than you think.

Fortunately the experts were right in this instance, the rockets were crappy and the man making the promises to President Mobutu turned out to be a swindler who simply ran off to Brazil with most of the cash however the press at the time ran with some very alarming stories that were at least partly true.

It would be unwise to dismiss out of hand the determination of a wealthy dictator bent on flexing his muscles or to overestimate the effectiveness of "our" response.

Sometimes the sneeze is not an explosion... but an implosion (often associated with a fart).

North Korea fuels ballistic missile, ready for launch

http://english.ruvr.ru/2013_04_10/North … aunch-031/

North Korea has completed fueling its “Musudan” medium-range ballistic missile, and is ready to launch it any moment, report Japanese media.

Earlier, Japanese military sources reported detecting up to seven mobile units mounted with various range ballistic missiles on the North Korean coast.

Meanwhile, the South Korean government has appealed to Russia and China to their influence with North Korea for defusing tensions on the Korean peninsula.

The South Korean Defence Ministry has said that several more missiles of shorter ranger, Scud and Nodong, are ready for launch in the same area in Kangwon Province.

Musudan missiles can reach Japan and the US Pacific island of Guam. The North Korean mass media have thus far failed to make any mention of a likely missile launch.

The media in North Korea is instead focused on preparations for the main national holiday, - Kim Il Sung’s birthday, that’s due to be widely celebrated on April 15th . Foreign Embassies and international organization offices continue working in Pyongyang as usual.

North Korea deploys seven mobile missile launchers

Up to seven mobile units with ballistic missiles of various range, from 300 km to over 3,000 km have been detected on the east coast of North Korea. They can be launched simultaneously or in succession over several days, starting from today, military sources said in Tokyo.

Besides the two mobile launchers with medium-range Musudan missiles detected on the east coast of the country, missile units have been moved to the coast of Hamgyong Province in the northeast of the country, with “Scud” ballistic missiles with a range of up to 500 km, and “Nodong” missiles with a 1.3 thousand kilometer range mounted on about five mobile launchers.

SEOUL - An official investigation into a major cyber attack on South Korean banks and broadcasters last month has determined North Korea's military intelligence agency was responsible, officials said Wednesday.

The probe into access records and the malicious codes used in the attack pointed to the North's military Reconnaissance General Bureau as the source, the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA) said.

"It was a premeditated, well-planned cyber attack by North Korea", a KISA spokesman said.

"We've collected a lot of evidence to determine the North's Reconnaissance General Bureau led the attack, which had been prepared for at least eight months," he said.

Of course NK does whatever it pleases since no one has slapped them down yet. A matter of time before that happens tho.

NK haven't been slapped yet. A nuke should bring them back to earth.
Unfortunately, the majority of people have no idea what normality is.

I believe they will do a launch on his birthday but make it land in the ocean within their boarders as some sort of weird birthday celebration.

That fat little dude over in NK is a stupid maniac. Day after day we hear his new threats in the news. He should fire his tiny nuke already, just to give Obama an excuse to end this once and for all with the push of a button.

I do not have that much faith in our news though. What they are looking for is most clicks and references and every article about North Korea logically has bigger interest value than other ones. It is a situation where the media is much to blame for the fear us mindless consumers have.

North Korea has not really changed that much of the rhetoric compared to how much our media is printing things about nothing. We are also getting fooled by our media. This has become something like the "Madeleine case" where they want to lift every stone to find something to write about. Newspapers only print stuff they think the buyers will want to read.
