Nothing to do with disk space... The ability to play blu ray movies on the next xbox is a must. That's something Sony done right with the ps3 add this feature to the next xbox then its a win win situation for xbox users.

Besides the Xbox version runs at 30 fps. Mine will run at 60!

If microsoft are smart they will try and not get into the Blu-ray crap and shave off 100 bucks off of the console. I'll gladly play a game on two disk if I can save 100 bucks. And since I'm an adult and have a computer, owning a Blu-Ray is usless. Do people still buy movies on disks? =)

The other week, I sold about 20 dvds on ebay and still got about $15 each for 2nd hand. These are about 5 yr old dvds plus and you can still get them brand new.
I think the next step in gaming will be storing the majority of the game onto the console itself like the game Rage. It loaded a gig or two onto the PS3 to save loading times.
I remember some old groups that would pack a 1 gb file into 150 mbs, so I think this will be the future.

Rage was almost a 20gb install, not just 1 or two lol
And ofc next-gen will have blu-ray, anyone saying otherwise is deluded.

Not everyone has super net speeds so downloading massive games isn't an option compared to getting hard media. The PS3 filled / fills all my needs as a media player / bluray and games console. Each as important as one another.

I shall take this down a notch so my post is understandable . If you have one banana in the year 2013. The banana isn't used because the market has changed. Now, pears are the new thing. Pears are being streamed over the internet. Pears are being downloaded aswell. All the banana shops are going out of buisnes because nobody is buying diskbased bananas (as close to banans as I could get). But i'd rather buy a console for 199, then a console with a usless banana for 299

Ps3 with bluray been a huge succes was actually the best bluray player on the market for a really long time, and was a huge selling point for many people.
Go check your local blockbuster its more and more bluray titles they rent out now a days people have moved on slowly in the last 5years.
So why the hell would people buy a dvd when they can get bluray with much better picture/video quality, the whole world isent pirates and downloads every movie out there and they still want the highest quality available.
You can get a ps3 now a days rather cheap with features most familys would be happy with movies/games/music/netflix aso why the hell buy a standable bluray player when ps3 dosen't cost much more.

I said that I hope microsofts next console doesn't have Blu-Ray because it's a waste. Rather buy a console for 199 than 299. So it had nothing to do with PS3, or why bob bought the PS3.

Aint in a rush at all, this year have got some of the best titles i've ever seen with a new God of War, The last of Us, Ni No Kuni, Bioshock Infinite, GTA 5 to name a few.
meeh, i thought ps4 would use memory cards instead of discs like blu ray the ps4 also seem to get shitty hardware, it is like worse than the i7 gaming computer i bought 4 years ago I would have expected a 4ghz 8-16 core cpu from sony next gen

If you are not happy with playing console ports on PC then buy a console or just be happy with what you have. Nextgen consoles might make things alot better for PC users when it comes to ports but i don't see the big deal myself as you pick what to buy and what system to play it on.
You don't uderstand i like consoles alot, but most of the games released come from a hardware 7 years old ! So what will happen with the next gen consoles ? We will have again the same graphics for another 7 years ... No point buying a graphics card no improvement on graphics ...
edit : I hope ms will not go with the trend and add an lcd to the controller like wii u or the ps4 (rumors)

Good that games on consoles dumbed down almost everyl genere of games except RTS. At least my favorite type will be as good as usual and won't change soon. Probably it's still fun.

Graphics don't make a good game any true gamer will tell you this and even though the next gen is near the xbox/ps3 has put out some stunning games regardless of how old its getting. I only hope the next gen consoles lasts at least 15-20 years which i reckon they will. Will probably be the last consoles we see as times are changing.
