Red dead redemption did not get a pc port AFAIK and it's by rockstar, too.
Not that I cared for it, but Halo 2 came out on the PC ages after it was released on consoles to promote Vista. Red Dead Redemption, unless there are some technical issues which make porting it unreasonable, would be a sure way to make a few monies for Rockstar.
I'm guessing there's an exclusive contract in a safe somewhere, made for 5-10 years?
As for GTA5, as with the last ones, there will suddenly be a "oh hey PC coming out in 3 months!" announcement and the entire gaming press will be "NO WAY!" and we'll be .

We'll see. I signed the petition, but I'm not a super huge fan of rockstar games however I can respect what they did for video games (specifically open world games). hopefully they'll have some rad new ideas this time.

I didn't like it too much unfortunately although I can see why people thought it was good. It IS the best rockstar game I've played, but I dont think I'm big on open world games. Fantastic soundtrack though..

OF COURSE there will be a PC version. They've been saying that there are 'no plans for PC release' since the announcement of every GTA since GTA3, yet they all did appear on PC after 3-6 months.
I don't buy that they need 5 months for polish. If they're this close to their original planned release, a delay of 5 months screams suspicious. I wonder if they're pushing it to make it a launch title for a next gen console.
All hail marketing and such. For all we know the game is ready and they're just stalling to improve their revenue numbers for quarter X or the year with the launch date.
looks like a mediocre blockbuster action movie with worse graphics.
After 20 years, the format of GTA games has gotten incredibly stale for me.
I expect GTA5 will be a mixture of GTA4 and GTA:SA. Maybe GTA4's graphics, but with SA's zaniness.
Either way I'm not really excited for it. Just more of the same.
