At what point do people stop blaming the leaders and start looking at their own failures as a society? I stumbled on this video from a mass sexual assault in Egypt...

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=9c8_1359802463

It is one of those tell tale examples of why no matter who is in charge nothing will change because a failed society will always get the leadership they deserve.

Interesting article about the Egyptian "ultras" aka "yellow dragon jihadists"

http://www.longwarjournal.org/threat-ma … r_hool.php

"If you are a fan of a professional sports team, chances are you have either witnessed or heard stories of other fans who take their hobby too far. Soccer ("football" outside of the US) fans in numerous countries have experienced hooliganism because some of their fellow onlookers translate on-the-field action into a matter of life and death importance. To choose just one example from many: more than 70 people were killed in early 2012 when fans of rival teams brawled at the Port Said stadium in Egypt.

That riot, along with other acts of violence and vandalism, has brought additional attention to Egypt's "ultras" -- diehard fans who organize around their favorite teams. As The New York Times put it on Feb. 1, 2012, the ultras "have added a volatile element" to post-Mubarak Egypt.

Incredibly, some ultras have fused their passion for soccer with a "jihadist mentality." At least, that is what a Facebook page devoted to the Ultras Yellow Dragons is now marketing. The Ultras Yellow Dragons are fans of the Ismaily Sporting Club, which is based in Ismailia, a city in northeastern Egypt on the west bank of the Suez Canal."

This is who our idiot governments want to send our money and weaponry to....

The leader of the al-Nusra Front, a jihadist group fighting in Syria, has pledged allegiance to the leader of al-Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri.

So the brilliant thinking is being an ally of Iran who just talks a lot of crap is worst than being an ally with someone who actually carried out the worst terrorist attack in history against us.

The point of it is to help the people remove a dictator which the syrian people don't want. As for the last part, building 7.

9/11 and how it was a government conspiracy, the collapse of building 7 proves it (a common thinga among nutters).

Amazing how some still believe that.  My dentist had an AMA magazine I was perusing in the waiting room that had a very interesting article that made the case that the conspiracy nutters delusions  (not only 9/11) are traceable back to bad parenting.  Apparently lack of being able to trust your own parents  leads to distrust in general, and a mind that's easily convinced  of things a sound mind easily identifies as ridiculous.

Actually your very smart governments want to send weapons now just before the end of the battle to make sure that such groups have local strong rivals
It's a shame how US and the west kept watching the Syrian people getting slaughtered in slow motion while they doing a conference every two months to support the Syrian people
Wonder why Libya decision was much easier

Can't understand why the Americans should pay for the rebels' guns. Sell, by all means, but let them pay for their own guns. I'm sure there are rich sheiks on both sides that could cough up the money.

It took like the Egyptians are once again caught up in turmoil. Estimates of 17 million protesters have taken to the streets in an attempt to oust Morsi only a year after his inauguration.  I hope they get it right this time and install a non-islamist.

Rape culture? It is unbelievable that they would send her down there dressed in "respectable" clothing or not. But it has to be a young woman right and not a crusty old white guy talking about the green revolution and freedom coming to the ME..

Breaking news: Egyptian army suspends constitution

Quote:

The head of the Egyptian army has appeared live on television, announcing the suspension of the constitution.

General Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi, flanked by religious and military leaders, said the chief justice of constitutional court would take the powers of the presidency.

His announcement means President Mohammed Morsi is no longer in power.

Anti-Morsi protesters in Cairo's Tahrir Square gave out a huge cheer in response to the speech.

The move follows four days of mass street protests against Mr Morsi, and an ultimatum issued by the military which expired on Wednesday afternoon.

The current whereabouts of Mr Morsi are unknown.

The people in Tahrir square are going nuts with fireworks (see cam)

Gonna be a long night in Egypt.
