Don't see why anyone should support either side. Israel is a state funded and run by terrorists and fundamentalists, the same goes for Palestine.

hahaha.  Surely it would be easier for Egypt to handle Gaza though.  Worse case, all out war over this every three year crap that keeps going.

130 dead palestinians and 5 dead israelis, I wonder how many of the palestinians were women and children? But sure, lets blame it all on Palestine. Israel is as much a terrorist state as Palestine.

Hamas is 100% clear terrorist organization and the west should not negotiate with them at all, instead we should let the israelis take care of them, they know how to deal with terrorists.
Any organization which brainwashes kids and recruits kids to fight their wars is a terrorist organization, period.

I won't argue the methods of Hamas as they are repugnant and the very definition of terrorism.

But I will argue their cause. I seriously challenge anybody here to tell me that they would quietly let the UN come in and remove generations of your family from you lands put them in a slum/refugee camp and then tell them that they can never return.

Imagine the UN decides that the poor Native Americans who were lied to and killed by the US government deserved a homeland. Imagine they decided to give back North Dakota to the Souix, NY to the Huron, Miami to the Seminoles etc. The same religous nutjob Americans who argue for the existance of Isreal would be the first ones up in arms in a guerilla war to take back "their" land.

Yeah, but as long as there is an organization like hamas making decisions, the situation will not change. It's not like there has not been any attemptions trying to solve this issue.

Also, it's true that the support of US religious nutjobs who see israel as their platform of forfilling the prophecies of revelations is not helping on solving this issue.
Same goes for the muslims who see this as a religious tool to drive their goals.

Today it's a political/religious theatre where the issue should be about the ordinary palestinian people, but who actually only are expendable pawns in this game.

You overstate the role of religion, the US support is more about money.  The jewish lobby in washingtin is strong, and well funded.

Again Mbodnar you are from the NE..in the south conservatives happily spout their religious drivel in support for Isreal despite the facts that they actively spy on us, steal the technology we refuse to sell them then they turn around and sell it to the Chinese etc.

Regarding this cease-fire agreement I think that the small opening up of imports to give the Palestinians food is the best thing. From being completely blocked and the arresting of Swedish aid workers by the Israeli government finally the suffering civilians now might be able to go to bed with a little bit of food in their tummy.

It is a good thing in the sense that it will be harder to smuggle in weapons when the food and blankets wont need to take the same journey as well.

Egyptian fury over Mursi 'coup'

Quote:

They have described his move as a "coup against legitimacy" and accused the president of appointing himself Egypt's "new pharaoh".

The decree states that the president's decisions cannot be revoked by any authority, including the judiciary.

His supporters say the move is designed to protect Egypt's revolution.

welcome to the new Egypt same as the old only with more Allah

Egypt had military rule and control of Gaza from 1948-1967.

Yeah that was what I was going to post as a commentary to the article; it is basically "weapons of mass destruction part 2: Invasion of Syria". By hook or crook we are going to intervene in Syria and Im just worried with King Obama in charge he will be given carte blanche by the media to claim whatever while they cheer him along.

Egypt could 'collapse,' army chief warns as violence continues

The irony is that anarchists are making a revolution against the Muslim brotherhood and the army says that it is better if they take the power and that is the only thing reported in western media. Army might be better that the current government but it is not the best way to solve this issue. What Egypt needs is much progress and fast.

The brotherhood has managed to destroy Egypt's tourist industry which was their biggest income.

2012 was bad for a lot of people.
