From part 2, which is closer too the series in time. They don't really contain many spoilers, it's mostly back story, but some of the story is given in later books, and so may be presented later in the series, but it's still background story.

Like if someone were to tell you about the Rains of Castemere before we heard about them in the series, it wouldn't be a direct spoiler, but it would be background story that might hint at future events.

Yeah, don't read the last two, those cover everything from the first five books, and are spoiler-heavy. The two alupigus linked are fine. Actually could be quite interesting for someone just watching the show, as it gives a better understanding of the story, and what has happened before the series started. They don't really have much time for that in the series, but it gives a better understanding of it all.

Not sure, but don't the S1 & S2 extras have a bunch of animated comic like videos that give you useful family / lore / history information which would probably be more entertaining to watch than to read an article on.

yeah.. I'm not sure if its against the rules, cause I dont think the extras and stuff were on TB, but if you buy or otherwise get your hands on the dvd/bluray theres a bunch of animated/photo-montage w/commentary  history and other stuff which is pretty cool.

funfact: they originally shot flashbacks of Neds bro + dad getting killed by Aerys for S1, but decided later on that they didn't wanna do flashbacks

Yup it`s a grey area.I think it was his original plan to do that ,but now I`m not so sure.My biggest fear is that his writing is push in a very subtle manner in a "certain direction" by HBO.

nah - this is more book than show related but hes not gonna change anything to cater for the show. As much as we might hate change A/B/C, I'm sure he hates it even more, even if he understands why they had to make it.

He's just slow as fuck, but the books will be as gold and I'm 100% sure hes not changing anything cause of the show.

Ever wonder what question he asked D&D to which they correctly answered and in doing so got his faith and blessing?.

This sucks though, the wait for both resumes.. 10 months before we get anything Westeros related.
