There used to be a huge thread on now dead SCT where people would post pictures with the stuff they bought and say a few words about it...  it was only hardware initially but it soon turned into whatever stuff people bought.

So i figured why not have it here also...it would be great for your e-penises, to give others ideas for gifts, for people to get a clue about certain devices, mini reviews for stuff people buy...

Maybe this gets sticky and popular...

Rules:

- pictures you made yourself of stuff you bought or you're going to buy them in the next few days (don't post pics of Benteys or planes saying you bought them)
- say a few words about why you bought it or what motivated you to to get this instead of something else, how impressed are you about it - you get the idea, post a mini review of the thing you bought.

Please post pictures made with your digital cameras.

As I said, anyone can grab pictures of Google Image Search and say they're buying it... it's no fun this way.

And it's pictures of the stuff you recently bought, as in today, yesterday, no stuff you have around the house already for weeks/months/years.

So I guess I'll go first.

Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000

Bought the same model about a year ago, i like this model because it doesn't make sound when you press the keys but you still have to push enough to know when you actually pressed the key. So it's good if you type a lot.
I just ordered the same because otherwise i'd have to go and try each keyboard out and I wasn't in the mood to waste a day testing keyboards.
The old one still works but after about 5-6 months the rubber pads that keep it fixed on the table go loose and then after I washed the old one a few times the keys began to lose their elasticity.

Now i have to get used again with the original elasticity, I see I'm pressing too hard on the keys

Found this on Amazon for about 3 euros... great movie (musical), oscar material, 2h 47m of goodness, and if you don't want it anymore you can always gift it to a chick or your parents and they'll love it.

* and it gives me a reason to take out my camera and shoot some pictures

Edit: Well, as you can see it's not my pic but I hope you still believe me.

Bought it since I'm drinking with friends tomorrow, simple as that. And I love Stoli.

Hanns-G HH-281HPB 28" monitor, 1920 x 1200

just got this in yesterday.  ordered it from costco, for $280 shipped. (you can still see the protective plastic on the bezel, as I haven't even removed it yet)

here are my impressions so far:

pros:
very bright.  almost too bright ( see con below)
good color
excellent for the money

cons:
backlight bleeds through a bit, but really only notice when the screen is black
heats up my room (by nearly a degree F, no joke)
hums when brightness is turned below 82

for this price, I am in love with the size and resolution of this screen.  however I am seriously considering returning it, as it is simply too bright.  I know I can turn the brightness down, but once it goes below 82, the monitor produces an audible hum.  If there is one thing I cannot stand about electronics, it's if they make extra noise.  the hum is unacceptable, so I am trying to deal with the brightness.

I am going to call up the manufacture and ask if this is a known issue, or if it's just my screen.  if I can get a replacement that doesn't hum, I will be in love.  if not, it was nice while it lasted.

I needed a TV, so i found a great offer.

TV is great. Blu-ray is excellent aswell, and can't complain about the onkyo set either, need to test it more before i can come to a more detailed conclusion about it, will probably add more into the onkyo set. (I like to feel the house shaking when a bomb goes off in a movie) Which i wont be able to do with this sub.

My Ps3 broke for the 3rd time 2 days ago, so I thought it was time for me to get a new one as this whole repairing process takes a lot of time and after the last repairing session it has only worked for about a month.

So yeah, I have got a new PS3 slim with 250gb harddrive since yesterday.
Doesn't look as nice as my old one (good old original 60gb) but has much more space to store junk on and it will also be in favor of my electricity bill.
Now I only got to find out how to transfer my savegames to my new ps3, plus how to get GTA4 out of my old one.

humming is definitely not right. I would return it to the store for a replacement or better model.
On the other hand, you could use the video card's settings to adjust the brightness and contrast further, without messing with the monitor's settings (though this is not a perfect solution)

Yes, sure, 'cause I wouldn't find home made pics on Google search or other places. Good joke.

If you insist.. do not recommend though (Crystal Clear from Katsu - Nederhash).

Mini-review.. I bought it cos I wanted to try the nederhash that is particular for Holland. First of all Nederhash is expensive, so you pretty much want bang for your buck. This hash won the cannabis cup of 2001. Maybe I mixed it with bad weed, but I got pretty sick from smoking this the first time. I prefer Golden Soles (blond hash) from Grey Area. I actually bought groceries as well today, but I thought this was more exciting..

I did try that, but it made the picture really muddy, and removed all detail from dark images :/

also, thanks wandel for adding the imgw tags.  I was tired last night, and for some reason thought it was 800px not 500px, so that's what I shrunk my picture too, so I wouldn't have to use the imgw tags, haha.

Use a mirror. Or make a picture of the packaging, manuals, whatever...

The point of the thread is to show what you buy and why you picked that and not something else, to brag about it and possible give others some ideas for gifts or for their own needs.

I (l can't vouch for others) will believe you if you make even a modest effort to provide self-made pics..

Anybody can find pictures on the net otherwise.

Canon Vixia HF20

Cant really explain. Only problem i have with it is that the quality is so high that my computer crashes everytime i want to edit the clips. Recoding on Full HD 1080p. Its a bit bad inside where the lighting is bad, thats ofc when i compare it to its fullest potential, which is outdoor recording. The quality is simply AWESOME.

Its kinda expensive, but totally worth it.

=)
