having the possibility to chose RSS feeds by category.

eg I turn off my computer at night, but being in Europe, when I get up in the morning and turn it on, some TV shows have already been bumped off the RSS by lots of other stuff I have no interest in and so are not caught by the auto-downloader.

#1231845 by DWNLDR9453 (Power User) at 2010-01-25 04:08:07 (3 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

1) To jump to a page number on the browse screen

2) Either a link to the last page of TTL (before FL is listed) or a way to sort by TTL ( I mean from low time left to high)

3) Maybe a star next to each torrent file so we can mark for our selves what we downloaded it (or a flag)

hmhedit:
1) hxxp://www.torrentbytes.net/browse.php?page=1
2) you can select to view packs, or to not view packs
3) nop, we dont keep history of what users downloads

Bit of a long shot, be here goes...

Would it be possible for the site to remember how far down a page a user has scrolled to? If it did, it would mean that whenever a user visits a thread frequently, they won't have to manually scroll all the way to the bottom and find any new posts that have been added.

hmhedit: not possible without scripts and scripts are evil

[FL] next to the /pack categories (any categories containing [FL] torrents)...

I am proposing this because back when I was new to the site I was confused about where to find [FL] torrents

hmhedit: not going to happen

[F L] is already appended to a free leech torrents name

I know, but i meant the categories itself..showing that theses specific categories contain [FL] material..
dnt get why they wont do it tho..

becasue its pointless, becasue you can view packs:
http://www.torrentbytes.net/browse.php … incldead=0

it will make things messy and its not needed

haha no I did! I am trying to say that you don't know that /Packs (the category) contains [FL] because it does not say in the category name..only when you click on the category will you see that all torrents in the category are all [FL].

but I'll stop spamming this thread now

Proper SSL on the site.

Startcom offers free SSL certs which are trusted by most browsers these days.

I don't know if this should be a feature or just a change in mod duties...

Every once in a blue moon a mislabelled torrent will hit the site; this is of course in no way the uploaders fault, but it would be nice if this torrent could be flagged by people for a name change, and it would be nice if such a name change would actually happen.

A recent example is the Daybreakers DVDScr, which is actually a TC. I'm sure a lot of people would be happy to learn before downloading that this was in fact a TC.

Once more, I mean no disrespect for the uploaders nor do I wish to make this some kind of "thou must check torrent names" duty of the mods; it would just be nice to try and "fix" mislabelled torrents once they're detected.

EDIT: This is of course something minor and to think about in ones spare time. The fact that mislabelled torrents are rare means it's in no way a priority.

sniperEdit: if the group has pred the relese as dvdscr then the name of that release is that. If it is then nuked for being tc,then it's a nuke reason, that does not change the name of the release. Ie. the torrent is not mislabeled, the release is,but it's not our job to rename nuked releases to tc or what ever their format really is. Most of the cases the nuke reason can be found in torrent comments and people can find out it there.

Shaamaan EDIT: I know about nuked torrents, but in rare cases (once more, a current example can be found in the Daybreakers torrent) the torrent wasn't even nuked. IIR nuked torrents are marked as nuked, so that's an indication that something is wrong (be it a name problem or something as trivial like "incorrect RAR sizes" ).

I agree with the SSL certificate, and also request one step further that the site be fully SSL. ISPs are watching .torrent file downloads (which TB already offers SSL for this). The site being fully secure would keep ISPs unaware of users activity completely (atleast to a point).

Would be nice with a clickable username on the quotes, so it redirects you to the original post,
looking almost like this: (but different code of course, and nick after the Quote: text,
i just couldn't make it work with current tags)

Fallout 3 was awesome. End of discussion.

This way if you wanna check out the original post in a thread thats 10+ pages, you don't have
to manually go through every single post to get to it.

Have a new category for packs called "concerts"

There has been a few concerts come though the site, it would be good if they were reupped as a pack, and or the music videos as well.

W-edit: From the first post.
* Any changes on categories (We'll edit them if WE see those needed)
Stop suggesting, if theres enough stuff upped so they'll need another category those will be added

collapsable/expandable section bbcode in the forums

for example, it could be used as a spoiler, or to replace spoilers.

Quote:

[+] Expand text/spoiler

click the [+] (or appropriate icon or linked image)

code could replace [ spoiler] or could be
[ expand]TEXT N SHIT HERE[ /expand]
[ expand img= IMG URL HERE][ /expand]

you get:

Quote:

[-](or appropriate icon)
HELLO MY TEXT IS HERE AND ITS SPOILING SOMETHING FOR YOU
OR I COULD BE POSTING A TON OF DIFFERENT SHIT (possibly 20 imgsets in a single XXX thread each assigned to an expandable image, to save on the amount of threadspam that often happens) THAT COULD RESULT IN WALLS OF TEXT WHICH PEOPLE ONLY WANNA SEE CERTAIN PARTS OF

Okay so sometimes i find myself reading through the forums and i get through about 4~5 pages in different sections. The problem i face is that after reading through a topic there is no option to go back to that page in that category. For example if i was on page 4 of "BitTorrent - Networking" and i just finished reading "Network infrastructures+bandwidth issues" to go back to page 4 i would have to hit the back button in my browser but his does not show me the topics i have already read(they don't turn blue).
If i click on the link  BitTorrent - Networking > Network infrastructures+bandwidth issues  it sends me back to page 1 of the category. And most of the time i'm not sure which page i was on.
So if there was a link like BitTorrent - Networking > Page 4 >Network infrastructures+bandwidth   i could choose the page 4 link and continue reading.

This is not a major a problem but just feels like an intuitive way to navigate.

Hope you guys have a chance to check this out. Thanks

Cheers

sniperEdit: Hit the back button and the refresh and thats it, topicks you have read are marked. No need extra db to keep up track on every users browse.

Edit: Noted.

Having the "you posted in this thread" icon on your own threads seems a bit redundant, so I propose it be removed. However this might make it more difficult to spot your own threads, so I also propose a slightly different icon for your own threads, it would need 3 different versions I think (read, unread and locked). I was thinking the new icon could look similar to the current "you posted in this thread" icon but with a larger or different coloured envelope.

When browsing torrents, distinguish between torrents the user has already downloaded and torrents the user has not.

sniperEdit: Not gonna happen, we don't log what users have or have not downloaded

I was about to suggest the same as WinT did. Sadly it is not possible.

How about a feature that shows in the browse list what torrents the user is currently seeding. This should be possible because there is already a list that shows what you are currently seeding/leeching.

If someone edits their thread there should be some kind of notification icon so just people know, most of the times i don't notice them.

TEdit:Not a bad idea. Lets see.

thats what i was just coming in to say

if you edit the last post in the thread, the thread still be's away down in the forum page, maybe if you edited the last comment, it could act like a reply an make the thread go back top of the fourm page, like it was another comment?

#1254058 by h0axDonor (Power User) at 2010-03-14 01:00:22 (3 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

I would really like a "Top 10" list where you can choose which category you want. For instance, I often look for movies - but most torrents on the Top 10-list are TV series and such.

Would that be possible to add?

Thanks.
