Here is the thread where you can request future features for Torrentbytes. Be very careful when you request things and be sure to express it in the clearest possible language. Once again, failing to follow the threads 'special' rules very likely leads to a warning.

I have one suggestion, start a counter-strike 1.6 server instead of the offline cod server.
The cod server runs on donations? and it takes much more bytes then a counter-strike server?
Torrentbytes could mabye even rent out counter-strike servers like/such as www.game-hosting.com or www.e-s.se for a reasonable fee, to pay the uptime cost instead of donations, Ill be really intrested! make a poll.

cRaZyEDIT: The current game server is not paid for by donations. We have some great members that actually offered it to be used on the site. As for what game should be ran...that's really up to the server admins, not us. I'll point them to this post, but again, the final decision is theirs.

With this new "Informative Titles on the Forum Pages", now the tabs in firefox never show the topic name. So, what I'm suggesting is that you could start the said title with the topic title.

For example, instead of:
TorrentBytes :: Forum :: TorrentBytes.net :: Topic :: Propose a feature for TBy

Make warnings more informative so it's clearer what in particular you've been warned for - perhaps a link to the particular rule or something?

(I can kind of see why I was warned, but it would be nice to know in future without having to message the mod that warned me)

ability to hide browse categories, just like 'Browse default categories'

perhaps a 'show default categories' on the profile management , or make it kid safe so that at least users can choose not to display the XXX cats on the home page.

by default all cats are visible just like it is now, then on users can hide whatever sections they dont want visible for whatever reason..

W-edit: Unchecking categories in "Browse default categories" in your profile hides them from the browse page. Or am I misinterpreting you?

EDIT: 'Or am I misinterpreting you?' yes i know that feature its already there, but i mean from the categories up in the top of the page [Music/Pack, Games/Pack, Tv/Pack].. being able to hide wich ones you can click on for further browsing. those categories will not be browseable at all unless they are set to visible on ones' profile prefs.. hope thats a lil clearer

I didn't see this carried over from my last request and last time i had checked it no one had replied so it is back!

Multiple Hash Scrapes added on to the track so Vuze/Azureus clients and others can keep a stream open to update all of their torrents in one scrape reducing the amount of connections to the server and allowing my client to have more a over all better picture to seed.

EDIT: To be clear, I'm not requesting strike-out tags (I know we already have them), I just noticed that they weren't on the example page.

I think that a Torrentbytes.net IPHONE app would be amazing as it means while i am out and about i can find out whats new on torrentbytes.

The ability to reorganize forum categories. With the exception of the first two, they don't follow any logic, not even alphabetized. This idea occured to me when the sports category got thrown between music and apps, at least for me because I have a few turned off I don't care about.

While we are on the topic of the sports category, why not have the new on by default the same with the browse categories. I remember they were on by default because I remember turning a few off.

I've been wondering why there aren't any Audiobooks om TB ?
Lately i've DL'ed alot from a small danish tracker, but there are very little available, because of the community's size.
It's a great way to learn or just enjoy a good novel, while working or doing stuff.
So my surgestion would be an Audiobook category in the Torrent section

Maybe add a new bar in the torrent info with: New ratio on completing the torrent (Just like Waffles ). It might help people from making bad decisions like downloading a massive torrent with almost no upload or anything. and it might be usefull in other situations as well.
If it was already requested I'm sorry, I ctrl+f'ed looking for anything with ratio.

Just came up with a idea I've never seen any forum have.

Right now you need to write [ imgw]linkurl.jpg[ /imgw], why not make so you can make it easier like this

And it will all been shown when posted as separate images.

Hey!

As the numbers of daily music uploads go insanely up I would like to see them as they used to be in the past - in the form of MP3 0day packs. Most of the uploads is niche music anyway and this way I, and other people I think share this issue, wouldn't have to browse through pages and pages of music I'm not really interested in just to see what new stuff was uploaded in other categories. You want to say 'disable music category in your profile'. Well, this way I would not see ANY music uploaded at all and I am interested in some releases, just not ALL of the zillions uploaded daily.

tl;dr version: It'd be greatly appreciated if daily music was uploaded in MP3 0day packs.

Everything else is swell I think, Ondast's suggestion is great, saves a lot of time when posting screenies and such.

Just because YOU are not interested does not mean EVERYONE are not interested. We will not have 60000 different packing options for music, because we just have that many different preferences on what should be packed and what not and which releases to be on which packs.

You are also requesting torrents to be uploaded (as a pack)

Also, thread rules state not to discuss about feature additions.

Allow users to view their own comment/post history.

I know the list of "asked for and denied requests" includes " Users being able to view other users post/comment history," but I am only asking to view my own history. I have found that it is helpful to use your own post history to keep up-to-date with topics you have posted in. This feature (seeing your history, but not others') is enabled on other tbdev sites I have used in the past.

In searching the forums before this post, I did see a post that suggests this feature is available (http://www.torrentbytes.net/forum_viewt … icid=37545, but it is pretty old. So, was this a feature at one point? Or possibly its a feature for power users and above only? If this is the case, it should be included in the FAQ as a benefit for power users. Or maybe you should just allow all users to use this feature (for the record, my current ration is well above PU status, but I will need to wait a few more weeks until I am eligible for PU status).

I would like an upgraded search function where you can search for example whats inside a movie or game pack.

say that i want the movie "goodfellas" and i cant find it by using the search function while its in a movie pack.

Meaning i think you should include searches of movies in moviepacks, gamepacks, songpacks.

i often see people still requesting stuff every now and then, sometimes members that have been on tb for over a year even request a torrent or newer members.

i think an easy way to prevent people that dont read/forgot the rules or those who never visit the forum. would be to show an announcement when you make a topic for the very first time to say something like "no requests" with some exclamation marks and bold tags, and only showing it if its their first topic

TEdit: And the other rules people are constantly breaking? Should those be also on the notifiers? You'll end up with more notifier than the page itself. If I recall (busy atm) there is a suggestion which would bring a 'warning' page to a user not having too many posts to read the rules before posting.

i previously asked and learned that TorrentBytes doen't have the feature. Now i suggest the "TorrentBar" feature to be implemented.

it s a dynamic userbar with DL and UL stats plus total ratio of the user. the userbar is used both on other sites an in the main site. so that users enjoy to show their stats.

i hope admins consider it.

Is it posssible to create a search that searches thorugh Packs?
For example if I'm looking for a movie which is a bit older so it could only be in a MoviePack.
isohunt.com has something like that.
It would be so much easier to find what you are looking for!

TEdit:There already is a Description search (dropbox on Browse page), however, you can only look for packs that do have descriptions. If packs get reuploaded the description is tend to be lost.
Perhaps a search that checks for files within the torrent, but Im not sure if this is doable.

how about a server/tracker status (i.e. uptime, processor load, parsing time (could do 5sec av's) )? I think this would allow people to check themselves if the tracker is down due to high load etc. You could just add it to the table on the "home" page.

anyway, I couldn't vote for sniper in the last staff bashing poll, although I was here in the site
I just didn't know the poll was there, especially after I switched my bookmark from the homepage to the forums page after the news announcement feature added

so I suggest a new poll annopuncement
I know that TB policy is to avoid annoying the users as could, but it could be an optional feature disabled in default where the hardcore users could enable it from their profile pages

I am too sad I missed this one, I am not sure if i missed a poll since i joined

We have the best forum search in the torrent sites, but every time you search the criteria returns back to its default (topics, all forums, relevancy)

Another suggestion is to write the page number (in forums) for those who us more than 25 posts/page
I mean if I am using 100/ page, a line after every 25 posts will tell me where the page ends in default.
