I use to use it more, but it doesn't work on a lot of the shows anymore. Tend to use 'The Renamer'

I've noticed with smartrename is that if i right click on a file and select SmartRename it rarely works, but if i open SmartRename first and just drag and drop files into it will process them just as fast as it used to do :yes:

Maybe worth a try to see if it works for you

services.tvrage is down so all api calls are foobared at the moment.

when its back up any programs that rely on it for episode details should work again(hopefully).

You could also try theRenamer (google it) as it uses multiple sources such as tvrage, imdb etc for reference not just a single site.

I switched to it 9thanks to warduke's earlier post) the last time smartrename had issues and never switched back.

I use theRenamer. It works great. Never tried anything else nor do I have to.

Agreed it's great. Perfect for those of us with a Boxee Box, you just have to select TVDB and it renames the shows so that they'll automatically get recognized by the Boxee player (for show/episode info, cover, etc.).

It does fail at renaming the show 'Episodes' though! I was looking for the 7 first episodes I had transfered to my Boxee and couldn't find them. Eventually figured out it had renamed them to House MD S02 e1-7
