Cause: The GUID for feed items is set to the URL of a torrent's details page, if the uploader/system changes the URL schema from http to https (or vice versa) then many aggregators/readers treat the new item as unique causing a duplicate to be displayed.
Proposed solutions: Use only the torrent's ID number for the GUID item AND/OR force all links/GUIDs to use a single URL scheme.
I'm having a problem using RSS. Some torrents give an invalid error while others don't. For example, last night my client got Dexter but was unable to get The Unit.
Since both links worked when opening the feed on the browser, could this be a problem with my client (µTorrent 1.6.1 b490)? This didn't happen a few weeks/months ago, hence the question.

Seems to be an issue with the RSS feed. The feed does not load (once in a while) in Firefox (3.0.3) and in RSSFeed Scanner with Vuze 3.1.1 - I get a" Malformed RSS XML; Invalid XML character..." error. All my other feeds in Vuze and Firefox are working.
I talked to Aterlatus in the support IRC and he said to post here and say "probably needs to be run through the NFO stripper (that is, the XML RSS description field)".
I had this issue yesterday for a few hours and today again (around 6 PM EST). Yesterday I noticed that when the below torrent dropped out of the feed it started to work again. It has a lot of special chars so maybe this type of thing is the cause?

any idea why this is happening?
None at all.
Random error messages tend to be due to random errors.
It's unlikely that it's the fault of the site.
If you can post the exact error message(s), it's likely we can help to solve the problem.
The red background color on /index.php seems alittle darker then /browse.php and the rest of TB's background color, is it supposed to be this way or is it just my computer which is failing me again?

We did have some issues with the css last night, but i can see what you mean on index.php because the logo looks to be framed due to the slight different colour.
Will see if i can get someone to take a look at it
A small thing... one of the snowflakes can be clicked. In my case it was by accident, and I got redirected to: http://dynamicdrive.com/
I don't think that was intended.
EDIT: On the other hand, considering you probably got the flakes from there... perhaps it's their way of saying "it was us!"... still, I thought I'd let you know.
DenEdit: Yeah we are aware of it and it's just as you suggested, the one flake is clickable and directs you to the site where the script was originally taken from. They made it so deserve to have it left exactly how they made it

Error: "Update failed! That doesn't look like a valid email address."
I agreel, it is not an email address for sure, and, yes, I am using the field called "My Avatar"
edit: Worked fine for me with that link you provided. Anyway, I took the liberty to set it for you. Feel free to try for yourself though. /cRaZy
edit: thanks cRaZy. Tried many times in the past and it always worked fine. Now that I think of it it might be because I was using Goggle Chrome... Not the first time I have an issue with that browser. I should have tried with FF before posting. My bad.

there is an issue in google chrome that when u open ur profile (my.php) it fills in ur username automatically in the email field, thats why u got that error, ... clearing that email field manually before u click submit, should make it work

I have been trying to get my brother in law signed up for the past few days. 2 problems I have encountered. He would sign up himself but he keeps getting a "you are behind a proxy or bad ISP" message. However, I can log onto my account perfectly. I tried signing up on my computer, the one where I access torrentbytes.net from and I get the same message. ISP being comca$t. Is there anyway to get around this error?
Another related issue is that yesterday i was almost able to sign up, for some reason the "Bad ISP" message did not appear and I was able to pick out a user name etc; but the problem was the image verification security measure. Even when It exactly as the image verification said, it gave me "incorrect image verification answer".
Tedit: Login and signup have different proxy verification. You should be able to login via proxy, but not create an account.
Perhaps comcast is having some sort of a proxy somewhere, which is not used all the time?
If you get a "incorrect image verification answer" the text you typed out is NOT what was in the picture, or the picture was already outdated. Every time you try you have to refresh the page and images. if the pic is loaded from cache (browsers or isps) it will not work.

My favoicon is still red like Rudolf the freakin raindeer. It realy doesn't matter though...
sniperEdit: This thread is for bug reports, not for things like this !. Favicon is blue, just clean your browser cache etc.
Me and a friend can't see the the torrents each of us is seeding here on TB (we're both in each other's friends list and have [showstats=friends] in our profiles). We both can see general stats and I can see the torrents he's leeching.
sniperEdit: Thats just how it suppose to be, only leeching torrents are visible when using [showstats=all] or [showstats=friends] tags in profile.
The "Avatar BG color" setting in my.php no longer affects the avatar background, but still affects the profile info background. Would be nice to have separate settings for those backgrounds, by the way
hedit: This post is an example. My avatar's background should the same colour as its bottom (151922).
Kedit: I noticed that as well, no word as of yet but it makes two of us for different settings for avatar/profile
