Using uTorrent updated client.

I get CRC error on some of the TB torrents (if one torrent gives CRC, it will give it 100 times), its been like this for a few weeks now. If i start to download again or even force start, it will download only a bit or up to 2%, then gives me again the CRC error.

I tried reinstall, redownload ect - nothing.

Any ideas ?

either your hard drive is going or one of your memory modules (RAM) might be bad

try testing your memory with memtest

Aah, yes i thought about HDD failiure myself. Tried also to save to another HDD (using 3 HDDs) - same result with the same CRCerror torrents.

Running MemTest now, gonna let it run a while. Ill let you know how it turns out.

Edit: 100% coverage and no errors. I let it run about maybe 30 mins. The errors in the torrents come within a minute usually.

Any more ideas ?

Ok, ill try that also then.

Btw is it better to run one memtest or 2 memtests with same sum of memory ?

No errors in memory.

This is seriously starting to bother me, i can download 2 torrents out of 3 maybe only.

Well.. The options really are RAM, HDD, HDD cables, chipsets(mobo), driver fault or client fault.

Smells like Win7 reinstall. Nothing seemes to help atm.

Problem:

Using uT 2.2.1. Ive had a "Element not found" error on a couple of torrents lately.

Tried force-recheck and still no go. Tried deleting the download and re-download the torrent and still no go.

These are auto-downloaded via rss, sp i have not renamed or moved any files locally. Download of the same torrent from different tracker solves the problem.

Any ideas about anything else i can try if this appears again?

You need to import our self-signed cert to the machine you're running the client in... or use non-ssl torrents.

Now I know, I need to get in the torrent details page and download the non-ssl file.

aka: try another client. I did a quick search on what might cause that message and came up with pretty much nothing.
Something could corrupt the .torrent on download too, but usually that'd result the client telling you that the file is invalid or its coding is invalid.

I'm getting a message "Tracker sending invalid data: <NULL>" since the last downtime (I think Aug, 12). I get this message with uTorrent.
When I tried Vuze, it says Deprecated: function split() is deprecated in /www/tracker.torrentbytes.net/announce_func ...

Is it just me? Is there anything I have to do in order to fix this?

That NULL stuff is due to something blocking or breaking the announce; try SSL.

That deprecated stuff is most likely a real tracker error, but at least I've been unable reproduce it.

Addition: The error message about deprecated something-whatnots is due to proxies; Workaround for now: do not use one on announces.
