Update: 2008-01-01: Now the script will take care of identifying you with P2P-NET and join the channels automatically when connected to P2P-NET, no need to have the script in perform. And thanks to fifty99 for the help.

I have made a script for mIRC to join the torrentbytes IRC channels automatically. It will whois the bot and check if the host is correct, send a message to the bot to get invited to the channels, and join the channels when invited.

1. Make a new file in your mIRC folder called "torrentbytes.mrc"
2. Open torrentbytes.mrc with notepad, copy the bold text below and paste it to torrentbytes.mrc
3. Edit the "settings" in the script (NickServ password, nick and IRC Key mainly, the others if you feel the need), save the file and close it
4. In mIRC, in any window, type /load -rs torrentbytes.mrc
5. Connect to P2P-NET.

Very nice script.   Im wondering if you can also make one that changes your nick and joins the TB channels when you connect to P2P-Irc. I cant make the perform commands to work with this IRC Network, dont know why :/

Is there a way to do this automatic?

You should only need to load it once. And also, check out number 6:

dalys wrote:

(6.) If you want, you can execute the script when connected to P2P-NET, add "/timer 1 3 /torrentbytes", without the quotation marks, in your perform for P2P-NET. (The delay is to make sure you are identified with P2P-NET first, which you should have in your perform as well)

Will this work for XChat?

Nope. I don't think so.

i sometimes get dc'd and when it reconnects to the server i still haven't timed out yet so i wrote this little script:

  n soniiic
  if ($me == soniiic) {
    p2pperform
  }
  else {
    timer 1 20 nickregen
  }
}

alias p2pperform {
  if ($me == soniiic) {
    ns identify p2p-net-password-here
    timer 1 3 torrentbytes
  }
  else {
    nickregen
  }
}

On the line that reads;

Quote:

timer 1 5 set %torrentbytes_whois false

Try changing the number 5 to something higher (maybe 10-15). The number represents how many seconds it will wait for the whois data to return after the whois is made. Good luck.

I'm using hydra IRC and really new to irc, always just used pm's lol. But i have no idea where to put this script or where or what to type to save this in my irc thing so i can join the channel

No offense but that code is bloated and no need for some of the things. My script is only a few lines and has done the job for over 100weeks in the irc chan.

This script will only work for mIRC, HydraIRC is another client.

Yes it is bloated, but it's also written to be user friendly and secure.
