Do we have to do this every-single time we log into the IRC servers? Or is it just once and then a simple /join #torrentbytes next time?

TKedit: You will have to invite yourself everytime prior to joining.

Join the irc network irc://irc.p2p-network.net

Make sure you have indetified like you would on any other network.

Then to join our channel you just type: /msg erica letmein LeBlanc <your irckey here>

Hit enter and you will recieve a message from the bot either inviting you to the channel, or telling you if a problem has arisen.

this is the script I made and use on mIRC to get in past the security doors

copy and paste somewhere, edit all your details in. go to mIRC and press Alt+R, File->New and paste it there.

TKedit: The timers might be too short on this script.
If this script doesnt seem to work; either try to increase the timer value or use the script linked on the second post.

Maybe you should check around first before typing, the support channel doesn't need an irckey it's an open channel for all to freely join even non members can get on there

It is just 5 lines for XCHAT2.
With perform.

But no erica whois script stuff unless someone know how to code in perl, python etc for xchat2.

What I have done is,

make a perform file (perform.p2p-network for example)
under connect command type LOAD -e /path/to/perform/file
in the perform file type the following

MSG erica letmein username userkey
MSG erica letmeinpre username userkey
JOIN #torrentbytes
JOIN #torrentbytes-pre
JOIN #torrentbytes

Yes double same joins, since I don't know if a wait command excist I use a extra JOIN as a delay.

Erica should not depend on the site being online or not overloaded since it's connected to the database in a completely other way than the site (at least what I have learned from dealing with things like the Erica-bot).

However, if this is not the case, it would be a matter for the admins to take a look at. If Erica do depend on the site being online or not overloaded I'd say it should be changed.

Tedit: At the moment the conifuration is so that if site goes down so does the bot. Hopefully this will be changed in the future.

This was ment to be an info thread, not a discussion / whining thread.

Your IRC key can be found by clicking 'profile' then clicking your site username on the top of the page.

If you cannot join by following the guide at the first post of this thread; contact one of the following users:
cRaZy in English or Spanish
deztini in English
Finsken in English, Swedish, Danish or Norwegian
sifichick in English
slovenaccc in English, Slovenian or German
tokol in English or Finnish

If any of the scripts on this thread don't seem to work, try to use some other script, edit the script at hand, create your own script OR do the joining manually.

If you have something that you want to add to this thread (EG. a new perform script, or something that you think might be otherwise helpful) send tokol a PM
