Furious 6 (2013)

I wasn't expecting to like this one because I got bored with the first one and didn't even finish the second and third ones but Furious 6 was a pretty decent action movie with some great car chases and destruction and even the fights were good.

World War Z: 8/10, entertained me throughout - but felt it was missing something.

Btw, I watched the THC CAM and it's damn near perfect, audio is like line 95-98% of the time and the video is great apart from 1/2 extremely dark scenes.

Fast and Furious 6 - 2/10

I think I am officially over with these nonsense sorts of action movies that don't even pretend to exist in a real world anymore, everyone is a superhero in movies now.

I don't really like Brad Pitt but this movie had some good tension and I loved the hordes of fast moving zombies.
There were some really good action pieces whenever the zombies invaded a safe place and the shit hits the fan within 7 minutes of the start of the movie.

No real gore though, that's what's missing.

I've read there were heaps of re-shoots over two years, including a different epic ending, so hopefully that'll turn up later off a blu-ray rip. I liked the ending of this version anyway.

Man of Steel (2013)
An action movie for the add generation. Basically 2 hours 30 minutes of fighting and explosions. No suspense at all, and Henry Cavill is a wooden actor if I ever saw one.

The Croods (2013)

Not as good as Wreck-it-Ralph but still pretty good fun. There's some funny scenes between the Crood family, like with their crazy little feral baby, and some of the strange looking wild animals they meet are funny.

All the prehistoric wild animals were drawn to look cute for the kiddies so as not to be so scary and the CGI was very nice.
Nicholas Cage played the voice of the big strong goofy Dad but I would have preferred it if John C. Reilly played him. John C. Reilly playing big goofy Ralph in Wreck-it-Ralph was perfect.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation - 3/10 - The first fifteen minutes promise entertaining action and pretty good laughs, only for the rest of the film to be an exercise in boredom, stupidity, bad filmmaking with very few redeeming qualities.

Spring Breaker - 3/10

I thought it was going to be a hijinks sort of "Hangover" type movie, it wasnt. Extra point for the tits and ass.

The Croods - 8/10

Dreamworks makes the better of these kids movies now that Disney runs (and than destroyed) Pixar and this is no exception, very entertaining. Kids will love it if you have them and as Phantoma points out it is very kid friendly "monsters".

Easily the best take on a Superman movie yet and I much prefer a serious Superman movie but this one still had some flaws.

I really didn't like Amy Adams as Lois Lane (I didn't see much chemistry between her and Superman and what I did see looked forced) and the script didn't give Superman quite enough to say.

I thought General Zod and unstable Faora-Ul were great villains but I was expecting Faora-Ul to also get more talk time in the movie than she actually did.
She's the one in the trailer (and movie) that says, "for every human you save we will kill a million more".

Btw, trivia says that Faora-Ul was General Zod's wife.

Eastern Promises - 7/10 - This was very good and particularly in the first half superb at building up the tension so the ending felt just a bit abrupt. Wouldn't mind a sequel at all!

The Heat (2013)

An uptight FBI Agent (Sandra Bullock) is sent to Boston to be partnered up with a foul-mouthed street cop (Melissa McCarthy) and take down a drug lord.

This is almost a constant laugh fest with the jokes and insults.

It's not a TS though but it is a very good quality cam.
