Anyone got KeyWeb dedicated servers (KeyMachine)? Would like to hear comments about their network and bandwitch.

I've heard good things, i assume you have a dedibox at the moment.  German servers are very very fast.  The setup fee is kind of lame though.

I heard that keyweb had a cap at 3 TB..

I'm using TorrentFlux on my linux box, and it's working nicely with public trackers. The problem is, how do I log on to TorrentBytes from my box? I only have ftp/shell access and I tried PHProxy, but Torrentbytes detected the proxy and didn't let me in.

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone recommend a good European seedbox company other than DediWeb or Keyweb? Dediweb has a bad rep. and Keyweb isnt geared to deal with English speaking customers yet.

I'd like 10-100mbps and at least 2-3TB monthly xfer

How much are you looking to spend?

If you are okey with setup fees. I would suggest Hetzner. Probably getting one of their dediserver my self. 1TB limit for 100/100mbit and then speed is being capped to 10/10mbit. 39euros per month for that aint too bad. I have only heard good things about Hetzner. If this doesnt sound good then I would suggest checking about LeaseWeb.

All VPS hosts, or dedicated box hosts I've seen sofar have in their AUP (acceptable user pollicy) that any form of copyrighted material on their host is not allowed. Some explicitly name p2p programs as not allowed.

How do you handle that? You just use an up todate ip blocking list and hope they don't notice or get warned?

#766304 by Carter (Power User) at 2007-01-17 09:18:03 (6 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

humm, i should prob read the ACU on my host, im sure im breaking every single rule. if your really good you can break all of the rules at once. copyrighted porn downloaded with a banned torrent client from a torrentsite.

but yes the best method to not get kicked out is just to not let them notice. my Linux server locks down its hard drive if they try fiddle with anything.

Can you link me to that plan? All the stuff on their site that I can find seems to be 1195 RAND a month, which is like > 100eu a month

Oh oh! Found it: http://hetzner.de/rootserver_en.html

Theres a diff Hetzner...

Traffic is limited to 10mbit after you transferred 1TB, but you can unlock another 250GB as often as you want via your control panel.

Just ordered the 39eu server from Hetzner, it'll only cost me $10 more than my DSL (I have two internet connections at home). 39eu = 60 CAD, my DSL is 31 CAD, and my buddy is gonna kick in a lil money for access, so I'll end up paying ~$40 a month for 100mbps. If all goes according to plan. Lol.

Just got the email saying my server is ready.

However the root password they supplied does not work. I've tried it many times. I can not SSH into the box with Putty. arrrgh soooo frustrating.

I got a shared seedbox running linux and utorrent (through wine) and i was just wondering how you guys download torrents from TB automatically using RSS?  the only thing i can think of would be to use TBNotify but its not linux native and im wondering if that would work or if there is another working alternative

thanks

I'm still waiting for a resolution to my problem with Hetzner. They sent me the wrong password with the initial "your server is ready" email and now I play the waiting game as the techs figure it out... gah....
