so what do you guys recon about the new dashboard. Seems very kintect developed, and for me with just a controller it's not as satisfying as I hoped.

Also, living in europe sucks when they release tv in the states.

Also this new apps, im not much for facebook nor twitter at all, will other company's develop their own app for the marketplace? like youtube and such or even a web browser?

Youtube is coming if it hasn't already..I'm not too keen on the new dash, I just don't like the layout of it very much.

tested youtube yesterday. I like it very very much, would just like to see a related video so you don't have to go back. Still missing a web-search function but we're getting there

Has anyone tried the new iXtreme Burner Max thingy?

I've been waiting for C4Eva to rlz some Hitachi firmware, which is now done (yay!). So, I thought I'd dive in but, in order to burn XGD3 backups I need a Liteon iHASx24B drive. Has anyone bought and one and tried burning XGD3 in the UK?

I was going to buy this one, but thought I should check with you guys first.

I'm wondering about how to get the B version, which has (I assume) different hardware to the other versions.

Some blog-like stories or quick tips would be nice.

Hope you've all had a great Crimbo and happy 2012 in advance!

Whats a good link on how to mod an xbox 360? only finding stuff from years ago.

Or could someone create a tutorial?

Do you still need to change the disk drive or is it just software based now?

You shouldn't change the drive - that makes it easy to get caught.

Depending on your model all you may need is a spare SATA socket and JungleFlasher.

Doing a search for JungleFlasher should bring up plenty of tutorials.  Best thing to do is open up the unit and find out which DVD-ROM drive you have first though.

@ AmbientMike, Thank you for that, ill google jungle flasher and have a read about it.
So once jungle flasher is installed, its right to go for burning games?

Its a brand new xbox 360 so ill guess its sata but ill check if the owner wants to rip it open and void all warranty

All XBOX's are SATA.

You can burn a game to any DVD+R DL on any drive but they recommend a particular drive with a particulr firmware to ensure writing the full amount of data to it so it passes all Live checks.
Depends how far you want to go to try and not get yout Live account banned.

If you're bothered about your account don't do it.  There are people that have been playing copied games for years without any issues - but if you can't afford to lose your account / have your console blocked then don't do it.

Has anyone got a tutorial for flashing a hitachi 47dj with jungle flasher?

I have googled and found a few but they are pretty useless!

I am not in UK but just ask in the store, they know what B version is for

i bought the cheapest one and flahsed it, works great but only works with Verbatim so far, i tried with Aone gold but i guess firmware isnt made for them, even fails on non xgd3 games

but verbs get 100% perfect burns , 2.4 speed and some lite on settings turned on like hyper tunning, online tunning
all you need is here http://www.ixtreme.net/open-forum/17835 … e-2-a.html

Got my Xbox360 reset glitch hacked a few days ago. Gotta say it's a really slick solution for playing copies if you don't care about going online.

Just a quick question, RGH is still possible with the latest dashboard ?

#1500918 by kashman (User) at 2012-10-07 16:23:19 (9 months ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Oh no! My old Xbox 360 has RROD'd on me. My Xbox, has no HDMI - it's OLD!

My Xbox has an extra heatsink too! Any advice please Xboxers? I was thinking about re-seating the x-clamps with fresh thermal paste, but I really don't know if that's worth it.

Any other fixes that might last me over Xmas?

cronogr wrote:

no it's not 14719 was the cut off and even that can be touch and go with rgh2

@kashman

reseating the heatsink won't fix the problem and neither will changing the paste, it'll need a x-clamp fix and fresh paste, don't expect it to last long mind, kits can be had on ebay for around £2/$2

Quick Q, because I've forgotten how to do this thing.

I've downloaded Halo 4 (XGD3) and just want to play single player and not gonna go online at all.

I don't need to stick it through abgx do I? I can just burn with burnermax firmware?

EDIT1: OK, so I tried it anyway LOL. ImgBurn managed to write half of the ISO then I got error about write failure and it wouldn't attempt to write anymore.

EDIT2: I just burned Saints Row 3 (XGD3) fine and dandy (ran abgx though). I don't get how abgx is affecting the ISOs for ImgBurn?

Some new info for those who are still truncating discs:

c4eva wrote:

Official release of the BurnerMAX Payload Tool - works with most MTK chipset based DVD burners (Liteon etc)

- No need to flash burner firmware. Delivers a realtime payload to increase capacity of DVD+R DL discs to support XGD3

- Support for stock iHas B, C, and D burners, all makes and models
- Support for many of the Liteon iHAS Clones
- Supports many other mnodels such as ASUS, Samsung, Pioneer and many others
- Supports many Liteon and Samsung USB External Burners
- Supports many Liteon IDE Burners
- Supports any disc burning software - we recommend iMGBURN

How it Works
-------------

Load your favorite burning software. Insert your blank DVD+R DL disc. Send the BurnerMAX Payload. Re-select your drive in the burner software and the capacity will be increased.
You will need to send the BurnerMAX Payload evertime you insert a blank DVD+R DL disc.

Special vendor specific commands are sent to examine in realtime the drives custom registers, searching for specific DVD+R DL blank media capacity and layer capacity parameters.

If found these registers are modified using another set of vendor specific commands.

Due to the use of stock firmware and different burner makes and models, any settings the burner has play a more important role.

For iHas burners B, C and D, recommended settings are:

Force Hypertuning - Enabled
Online Hypertung - Disabled
Smartburn - Enabled
Overspeed - Enabled
OPC history - Do not clear

Results may vary depending on hardware and disc brand.

Verbatim DVD+R DL (Singapore Manufactured) Blank Discs are recommended for best results.

but you still need an iHas burner, right? you can't just apply this to ImgBurn with any dvdburner?

Question: Do xbox 360 games stay as they are at release, or do they get patches through xbox Live? I wonder how that works out (if true) with small HDDs etc.

#1519650 by deathadder (Power User) at 2013-02-05 23:56:01 (5 months ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Patches, none are generally very big though, smallest HD is 4gb. If you fill that it works out by you having to delete something or not update, if you dont update the game you cant play online/stay on xboxlive though.
