Guys, I have a question about the current ways to play backups:
My neighbours kids got a xbox360 and I thought I'd help'em out with some games since they're poor bastards.
The xbox360 is a new fat one with 250Gb's HDD.
I've cracked Wii's, PSP's, etc, but never a xbox360. Whats the best method for playing backups on it?
Any does and donts when it comes to the subject?

Honestly, it's probably better in the long run not to bother helping.  You'll need to re-flash every so often, they could well get banned if they go on Live.  For your own or for money it's OK but as a nice favour it can be a bit of a sod - especially if you brick it!

Yeah I thought so too after reading up on it, thanks for your time AmbientMike and fanboi.
I'll tell'em its to risky and too much hassle.

if you have enough spare money, don't flash the xbox and buy original games - xbox live feature is great. i have flashed mine (got a dude to do it, because it's hard to do on own, also costs some tools) - it still is great! i know i've sacrificed xbox live, but 1 game costs 1 euro to record not 20 euro to buy

also, get red dead redemption, pretty awesome game

No one gonna mention the newest method of hacking the 360 then? What looks to be a JTAG on any xbox and any dashboard. If i didn't already have a JTAG i'd be very excited, as this stands it means a few of my mates should be able to join me in the hacked console fun

Definitely good news if it works, probably wait for my local shop to start doing it and take it over there.

thanks guys. I'm looking into the recharger thing, can I order that from say us ebay or something as I reckon that be cheaper but will it work on my eu-xbox?

Also, I mainly bought it for live play so I wont be flashing it ANy other good games, bought black ops straight away, since my friends play it, I'm looking into assasins creed and red dead redemption and waiting for battlefield 3.

Some great single player suggestions would be immensly awesome though

One of the first games I would be buying for online play is BF: Bad company 2.  It still is awesome.
The single player campaign was very good too.

Btw, I have two consoles.
One is hacked to try out games for free and the other one is untouched and used for online play with bought games.

I'll tell'em its to risky and too much hassle.

Actually, flash it with LT+ 1.92 (the newest one) and burn every game back to this date. So, you have like, 500 games to burn? Fair enough, I think.

I bought Xbox360 Slim 250GB and went straight to "this guy" to flash it. If you don't give a fuck about Xbox Live - flash it. Games are damn expensive.

you don't have to reburn old games, just the ones recorded with the previous LT version. i bought a used xbox on ebay, got it flashed to newext xtreme and 1-3 year old burned games work

it's actually only ap2.5 games that need patching with abgx360 then reburning so it's 6-8 games out of hundreds

also lt+ 1.92 is for slims only just to stop any confusion

Yes, but if you don't play on Xbox Live, you don't need LT+ 1.92 (assuming you have LT+ 1.91).

So my friend brought over his 360 to get modded again. IIRC it's running iXtreme 1.6 firmware so it doesn't play newer games. What would be the best firmware to slap on an benq vad6038 so it plays everything without the need to update firmware down the line? Xbox Live not needed.

ATM there's no fw that will play every game due to the new xdg3 or whatever that's out. Lt2 is coming or just wait for a rebooter for the glitch hack and never need to burn a DVD again!

Do i need to update my 3 yr old xbox360 ixtreme fw ??

Basically got 2 x 360 which were modded 3 yrs ago one has a hitachi drive and the other a benQ...i dont have the original backup stock fw keys though!

Last game i  played on the benq one was halo reach and the hitachi hasnt been used for 2 years.

So what do i need to do now to play newer games do i need to update the dash or reflash them, maybe the old hitachi could be jtagged as i havent updated the dash on the hitachi for2-3 years The benq dash was updated using halo reach.
