PvE servers are overall terrible.
I would avoid them.

The whole game has become terrible tbh, losing subscribers by millions.
I would avoid the game and try out one of the newer games.

nah, this game is not about skill or equipment, but about patch notes and who blizz will crown as next "wtf! It's OP!" class - read: fotm.

Tip: Usually the most OP are warriors, DKs, priests, mages, rogues and shammy healers (don't take my word for it. check class representation in 2.2k bracket). Sometimes druids and hunters but after each super buff, there is super nerf on them.

Anywho, after taking shit from blizzard, making game more stupid and boring and routinish each patch, i stopped playing it after 4.3 patch or whenever DS raid was added. My advise to you if you are still playing it: Kill yourself, cuz clearly you cannot be cured anymore.*

*Joke, guys! Don't do it. Living is awsome!

haha all these whines... it has been the same since day 1 of the games release so many years ago
it's always been a very gear dependant game, aswell as having the right class the right patch/expansion.

Yea, it didn't bothered me that much really. especially after i lvled up all of those "OP" classes, geared them up (gear is not an issue in pvp and LFR throws gear at you like crazy).

Game is just fuckin boring after some time.. go kill x mobs, go grab x thingies, cycle on lfd till you are dead for points, kill scrubs on bg... When random bgs started do give conquest points, it acctually made me wonder about quiting and i left as soon as new talent system hit live servers.

Sure, vanilla wow was about gear also, but god damn, you could do some amazing things if you had the right mindset and skill. Also bc had some sort of skill vs gear but it all died in wotlk I reckon.

But then again, how fucking hilarious was it to  see a double trinket pom/pyro mage in vanilla?

I had a good opportunity to quit a few months ago when my GM ragequit and my guild subsequently died.  A few weeks later they all re-subbed and asked me to start tanking again for them.

Tempting, but once you break your ties to WoW it's good to stay away as long as you can.

As much as I enjoy the game it's nice to not be on a strict schedule; I don't have to be online at 8 PM every night to raid for 20+ hours per week, I don't have to spend 3 hours everyday doing dailies, farming mats, managing auctions.

It felt like a really enjoyable job.  It's fun, but still a job.

I've put thousands of hours and dollars into the game since 2005 and I honestly hope Blizzard doesn't concoct a reason for me to come back!  Titan's another story, though...

A guild that raids 7 days a week and requires all that? Does that even exist, i've spent alot of time in guilds that go out for realm firsts and get them and we never did anything close to that, maybe the first week or two in terms of questing but its all new then anyway. Sounds more like a guild that failed, which obviously it did due to the GM rage quitting and having not one single person in line to take over, also rare GM does both GM job and Raid leads in that situation.

Find a better guild if you do next time and have fun playing with decent players.

5 days required, 4 hours per day.
The other 2 days were scheduled depending on what we were doing.

We took US50 25man in about 3-4 weeks last tier before the guild died.  It was good, drama aside.  15/16H in about a month, and then the guild broke up while we were doing Sha.

I was just a regular raider so I don't know what exactly happened, there was a huge argument among all of the officers (something involving a relationship) and the GM gquit in the middle of a raid and unsubbed.  All the officers gquit that night and the rest of the raiding roster was gone within 24 hours.  About half of the guild had been raiding together since BC, the rest of us were absorbed from another guild.  It was a well-known US guild.

Shortly after that I got a message from one of my friends who was an officer, saying they were going to start raiding again on a new server.  It would be $15 re-sub fee + $25 transfer fee to even start the game again... No thanks.

After they reformed I posted on their forums and gave their GM a lecture about responsibility and maturity and then got myself banned.

I started from scratch at the start of MoP, no retail raiding history for a long time.  My options were limited but considering I had a blank slate, I did really well last tier.

Here's my armory:

I needed a break from COD:BO2 and LoL so WoW again!

Had some good help.  No one really raiding that I know.. Most people quit.  So PvP it is!

They don't make movies about dead games.

Most of the games are "dead" today. Or very seldom played by the people who played them and in some cases loved them (Alone in the Dark).
WoW has more than 8 million players so it is not dead by far.

Wow will be around for a long time still im sure of that.

As for the movie...

The first teaser video for the upcoming World of Warcraft film was shown today during the Legendary Pictures/Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

i09 attended the panel, noting the footage featured an armored warrior taking on a "huge green orc." Director Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) was enthusiastic about the project, in part because he has the chance to create a new world, he said.

At press time, Legendary Pictures had not released the footage in an official capacity.

Jones also reiterated that the Warcraft movie will begin filming in early 2014. Minutes before the panel began, Jones teased on Twitter, "150,000 tweeters gift coming soon… It's not what you think… "

The big-screen adaptation of Blizzard Entertainment's fantasy series was announced during E3 2006. Spider-Man director Sam Raimi was at one point attached to the film, though he would later drop out, claiming Blizzard "mismanaged" the film.

The Warcraft film is believed to have a budget that exceeds $100 million, and is intended for release in cinemas in 2016.

Just hope its gonna be good enough for the fans after wating so many years its gotta be spectacular.

Oh how i will miss time spent on argue which expansion for WoW was better, why Blizz sucks etc. ...

Anyway, compered to vanilla, TBC or WotLK, now WoW is really dead. And i'm not talking about numbers cuz 8 mln is still great, but about quality of players. I can bet my ass that 90% of all players now is under 15, with constant "mom error" during raids/RBGs and way less brain than requierd. Game presents little to none challage and is boring as fuck. Apart from social aspect (which is close to non existant now) I would dump it in WotLK but i stayed till Cata.

Yea, game is still alive and best sub based MMO ever, but stays dead to me anyway.

About movie, they will cash in on it superbly no matter if it's going to be great or shit, cuz in the end Warcraft is huge franchise and it will sell great 1 way or another.

Just because we all got older doesn't mean we should consider ourselves a better "quality" of player.

Most of us were in our teens when we first played the game, that is their target audience.

Dunno if you played WoW in cata or MoP, but you would be amazed how many players don't even understand the concept of macros or keybinds in this game. Sole fact that 99% players waste their spacebar (easiest spamable key on entire keyboard) on jump is astonishing for me. I remeber this funny little moment in cata just after it was released when 5-man heroics were challenging and how fast they were nerfed becouse of overall whine that they are too hard.

Don't get me wrong, i don't blame playerbase much for it's current state. Blizz made this game so easy now it's hard to not get more and more stupid by playing it.

FYI the only problem i have with younger players is "mom error". If he/she is good, age doesn't concern me much.
