Tby really need a miracle, great community here and i loved it.

But none torrents and people will disapper really fast leaving the hardcore fans left but wont be for a long period 100% people moves on and thats how things go.

The way Tby been going the last year being great community or not getting torrents been less and less here since so much shit was never uploaded popular series and such people actually want being it missing uploaders or money i dunno but that dosent matter if you dont provide people find other sources.

And thats the biggest problem i think back when Tbits went down it was the shit none other sites could compare so people was desperate to come back here and you came through which was great cause wasent a million torrent sites back then like now.

As we can see in the poll 50%+ dont give a shit about community and those people will leave here within a small amount of time cause none torrents, and the large amout of those will never return as they find another source.

And this freaking teenage drama going on come on go watch Twilight instead or keep it PM, people are going againts each others now picking bob or sniper.

A months grace with the server costs, alot of people are willing to help but not with the way the site is at the moment. That can be sorted but we need time.

It's not one person stopping anything, its a whole mixture of things from people butting heads to just not agreeing with the way the site should move forward.

The site works, the community loves the place, paying the bills is the main issue right now.

All the other shit can be worked out along the way, I think this has been an eye opener for everyone concerned. Things will change but the site does not really have to, it works as is, we just need more users, more activity in the forum, fresh blood and new attitude moving on.

This has to be settled now

No it doesn't. Everyone who has been a staff member here knows things that can hurt this place. This is not the time nor the place to discuss it. The only thing that is important right now is the survival of this site, not the utter destruction of it.

Green and DXC for staff!!

Now seriously, I fully agree with them and others who voiced similar opinions.
At the moment the priority has to be keeping the site alive. Once that's settled, we can and should worry about the other stuff.

I have tied to be fair for the most part and I do not believe I have disabled users who didn't deserve it and when someone proved me wrong or apologized I was always willing to remove a warning or reduce it and admit if I was wrong.

And thats why I have stood for you. You can be harsh in language, but in the end if wrong decisions were made, you were not afraid to correct them. You are an easy guy to talk with in private and in every way trustworthy.
I also stood for tokol when he was on the plate, at one point bob wanted him out, he was even demoted for a while. And now he is the only staffer bobs appraising, how things change.

What comes to myself, I have done the same, if user himself has approached me after a ban, forum ban , I have always negotiated and gave another chance, always.
There are only few cases where I would not have negotiate, when family is attacked, thats a line for me atleast.

But the fact still is that if in a forum staff allows users call them cunts and similar names, then it's not gonna work, even if staff makes mistakes (which is bound to happen).

Sorry if i sound confused but thats what i am but is the site dying ? Or is this a temp thing ? Do i hang on or try to find something else ? I've hand an account here for longer than i can remember ( 3 total, forgot the pass/pin on the first 2) and i love this place, the layout, ease of finding what i want and content that suits me. There simply isn't a substitute that works aswell as this does, gives me the stability and speed, Piratebay is a mess, isohunt aswell so this closing down is a disaster.

Please advice/clue me in to some extent, a lot of things are unclear about what's going to happen with the site.

Thanks in advance

Nick

Fundamentally, for all the professed desires to keep this site running, there is seldom reference to the fact in the face of the opportunity of enduring personality dramas. We as a user-base have immense respect for all staff members — both current and past — for their dedication to keeping this site running; be that financially, through coding, or old fashioned time and effort.

Near enough all online forums are plagued by drama, but what's unique here is that so many are willing to air all this dirty laundry in public. It really should stop, although passion for perceived wrongs is, naturally, understandable: let's deal with the issue at hand, which is still impending.

I would advise that, henceforth, we stop all this non-sense and only discuss appropriate, realisiable and effective ideas for allowing this site to continue and function as normal. As such, really, only current staff — or people the current staff indicated they are willing to work with — should become involved in recommendations.

The fact is, is that it seems that, all else being equal, sniperfin is the acting head in charge, so his word goes; no matter what others may think to the contrary, facts are facts. He's the boss.

So, let's take it from there and see what we can do, right?

DemonicDM is 100%, 1 week until TorrentDamage closes door due to legal reasons. A site of about the same vintage as TBy.
Some of the stuff coming out public makes for entertaining reading if it was a tv show. But most of it should not have seen the light of day as it would have already damaged the community. People will read some of the post and simply clear out never to return.
Tby like most of you has been my homepage for 5 years now. It was my 1st private tracker.
Although I have now read about mismanaged funds, I will gladly donate in a heart beat. The site means that much to me.
It has a slick and speedy GUI. Huge community following. Easy to maintain ratio (and I am one of those poor bastards whose ups count with their ISP).  TV and movie packs galore! And it HAD fast pre's.

Its time to plan, keep things moving and re-group. Everyone here is showing their support.
And as many others have said, even though I know nothing about what it takes to run the site behind the scenes, I am grateful and would gladly do anything to help keep the site and community alive.

Hopefully things can be salvaged and TBy can move forward, because frankly no others compare to this community. Thanks to SniperFin and the rest of the staff for your hard work and efforts over the years.

One of the many things which made TB special is that the staff here are mature and old unlike most of the torrent sites out there which are led by bunch of teens or teen-alike adults
The past few pages were very disappointing tho. I can understand why BoB and sniper didn't take this to the special forum or any other place cos none of them wants to be realized he has something to hide. But I'm surprised that no staff member seriously tried to stop them for the sake of TB. I urge any staff member to edit their posts or cut and paste them in any special forum to reduce the damage done by these posts at least for users who haven't read them yet.
Even if TB has to go, it has to go with only respect to be remembered of.
We loved this site for years. So many people say that they feel connected to this community more than any other community even those who stopped posting or lurkers who never even posted. Please let's keep it that way. Totally pointless to spoil everything in the very last moment.

Let's try to show only the positive side of TB at least for now

I think that generalization is out the window now. While the "old and mature guys" infight over a shrinking carcass, the kiddies are smoothly running sites with 100,000 to 1,700,000 torrents.

While I understand why a lot of people say some things cannot be discussed in public, I don't see a problem with everyone putting their cards on the table as long as it's done in a civilized way. Editing posts or forum banning someone doesn't fix or prevent anything, it just helps multiply rumors. People will still PM others and exchange rumors. If it's out in the open it's settled and we can move on.

In the past I was always against the rule of keeping things secret, such as the cost of the server for example. If I remember correctly the donation bar was designed so users could see we needed donations but without revealing how much we needed. Don't think it hurts at all to know how much we need. A lot of people appreciate transparency.

I guess people will clash with each other on any torrent site at some point. Same thing happened back in Torrentbits with one of the admins who stepped down before it closed.

Someone mentioned Crazy a few posts ago. Was Crazy known as Wellard back in Torrentbite? Maybe I'm confusing them.

But criticism of admins will always exist. Aterlatus was criticized because no one knew him, and my hazy memory remembers someone accusing him of something but I can't remember what, Babylove was criticized but I can't remember why, MaxThePuppy was criticized for not wanting the site to evolve, Denise.. can't remember how things were back when she was admin..

Just like politicians... It doesn't matter if we elect new ones. First people will praise the new blood. Criticism and complaints follow, unhappy people go somewhere else and start their own site, etc.

I was actually happy when I saw the site starting to evolve, allowing non-scene, adding new features, etc.

Interestingly enough, I don't remember ever having any issue with any staff member. I guess I go along with people just fine.

P.S. Any staff member who misbehaved should be publicly exposed just like a bad politician. If we hide things we aren't any better than a church who attempts to hide stuff. I cannot respect anyone who misuses funds, no matter what the reason is. Also, every single member of staff should know exactly how much is being received and how it's being spent. Transparency also reminds people of doing what's right, or else.

If it all goes to hell I just want to say thanks for the past 8.5 years, it's been awesome and something that will never be replaced.

I appreciate all the hard work that goes unnoticed by the staff  behind the scenes.

just have to say i have been here from day 1 been a great site over the years and will be sad to see it go! any talk of setting up another TB (considering that the original TB closed and this is how this site came to be! )

sad to see that the faith of this site is seeing and end, same as tb sunk and this came back as a new era. I joined in 04 but kicked in 2010 since a staff member claimed without any solid proof that ive cheated ul ration (any i dont know how anyone worked out cheating like that). But anyways. Enjoy this site. Has everything, feel that other cant be what this was, not close at all.

will miss tB.

JEFFSR YOU CUNT!

Man I've been under a rock this whole time.  I thought he had health issues or something. I liked him to this day.

In hindsight, the right thing to do really was to hide it from us.  Feel bad for the guy who tried to expose him only to get screwed himself... however, the situation was delicate and needed some discrete massaging.

Hell I don't know if I'd be still here if I knew JEFFSR was dipping in the coffers at that very specific moment in time.

Knowing now though is not damaging.  I'd still donate.  This site seemed to have many heart attacks since JEFFSR left and always came back strong.  It all happened in the backroom but with this kind of information, arguments and the site still lived on... man you admin/ex-admin care and I appreciate that.

Here's hoping the site survives the biggest challenge yet.

This.... 100 % agree with this.I know lot of sites which had great torrent content ,but their forums looks like shit because they have teen-age monkeys as moderators.

Starting to see why BoB got muted...

So guess my donations wen't into someones pocket instead of fueling the site. No wonder so many were needed back then just to fuel a tracker! I remember seeing "you have no idea how much money goes into running a tracker!" as reply to some veteran developer.. haha

Regardless, still proud of my T-shirt and this site's given me alot. No clue where I go next because most "open" alternatives really seem to suck when compared with TB

So long~
