It's odd you publicly fighting and putting a bad light on the site. It almost looks staged, to convince users TB can't exist in the future, like it's not worth saving.

TB has been a great place and I will miss it, I hope there is a new place for all of us (no matter where we go).

I don't know anything about the stuff that's been going on behind the scenes with staff/former staff but as much as I enjoy the drama now, it's really not doing anything for the future of this place.

If people/former staff don't like how the place was run, now's your golden oppurtunity to do something about it. Let this site die and make a TorrentBytes v2 with the staff and the coders that you want. Problem solved, everybody wins!

PS. I'm also surprised that TorrentBytes has had so many problems with funding the site seeing as there are bigger and better (content wise at least) sites out there that have no problems with it.

Here is my opinion for what it's worth regarding the theft of funds.
This should have been made public upon its discovery.It's stolen money from the user base, the shareholders if you will.As a donor, I give to the site expecting it to be used for the site, not it's admin.I think I have a right to know where my money goes, especially if someone steals it.That's how the trust is maintained. The admin is in a position of trust.If he flagrantly breaches that trust by stealing then he should be permanently banned from the site as punishment, not asked to step down and quietly continue to use the site without repercussions.What lesson is learned if he/she is allowed to stay? What happens to the trust between user and staff?
I always thought that windpaw was the bad guy, an asshole for holding the db hostage.Turns out he was the one that had our backs, that was protecting us.Shame on all of those that conspired to keep that a secret.
As for the in-fighting, who's really going to give a fuck about all this he said-he said when the site dies?
People talking about doing right by the users but let me tell you actions speak louder than words and I ain't seeing any action.So keep bickering and make the most of it because the clock is ticking and all that work that you guys put into this site will be for nothing.Then we can ALL BE LOSERS TOGETHER.

Bah. It's really the thought behind it which decides if it's racism or not. It's a stupid but easy thing to say in the heat of the moment and that's that. It would be a different thing if he said something like "typical a nigger to steal all the donations" but he didn't so don't bring in the racist card in this debate. At least not if that quote is the main reason for being called a racist.

Is it possible for some people with insight to read a public announcement about the donations being stolen etc.? It's already out now so it would be nice to see some real facts rather than some things getting out in the air while people are accusing each other for the doom of Tby.

When this site had problems with funding, it was posted in the news and the community stepped up straight away. That's why we're trying to save it.

I have said my bit privately to Bob and to some extent I believe although we will not be taking any long walks together holding hands on the beach we have for the most part reached an understanding.

That being said in case the doors swing shut finally I want to take this opportunity to apologize for my behaviour prior to the last 7 months. I broke many forum rules and behaved inappropriately towards some members. Looking back at my own posts I can see how even if I did not mean it they could be construed as bullying just because of my position on staff. I once said when first asked to be staff that I wasn't going to change who I was but in hindsight I really should have. I have tied to be fair for the most part and I do not believe I have disabled users who didn't deserve it and when someone proved me wrong or apologized I was always willing to remove a warning or reduce it and admit if I was wrong.

That all being said I do love this site and I have met some good friends and made friendships that have extended outside of TBy. To them and to the users that are not overly fond of me and the ones that downright hate me.

I failed you as staff and I am sorry. I should have done better.

With that said I would like to ask that we all stop focusing on who did what, who hates who, who thinks someone did something, put aside our differences and petty hatreds at least until the continuation of the community is secure. If you want to fight after that I'll even set up the boxing ring in my backyard for you
