How about the ones from reputable companies, from the moneysupermarket link?

I used a Virgin pre paid card (listed on podgey's link) for a number of years when I was a student, never had any issues with it. Mainly used it for ebay.
What I don't get is how the money goes from site to card without the footprint of someone having their name all over it. Perhaps I am missing something.
When I had the card it was a new concept (pre paid cards) for me to put cash on it I had to take the card to a shop or the post office, hand the card over with cash and the shop then credited the card with the cash. I'm sure its different now
Now if say a staff member got one of these cards and there is a way for the funds to be credited via user to card via some form of buy/donate whatever link to the card I recon that card would get blacklisted in no time, surely there will be something in the T&C's of the cards to not allow any that. Otherwise folk could launder money and illicit goods using a pre paid cards. Or perhaps I am totally wrong, was never something I looked into as it seemed pie in the sky.
Also is there any limits on these cards as to how much can be paid in per month and paid out? I recon if TBy suddenly had a donation method and it went live to the masses right now and people knew about it then you would be looking at a massive surge in donations all in a short period of time, which I am sure is also being considered as a factor.
Can these cards receive money from non home countries? Will the sites debtors accept pre paid cards?
All of the above will have been looked into, for as much as I don't agree with how staff became here I know a couple of them have their heads screwed on the right way and will have already considered that option, pro's and con's.
These conversation tend to go in circles, I'm just waiting on someone gubbing off the same rubbish about bitcoins for the one billionth time.
Priority is not only the security of the site but the individual who takes up this poison chalice. I know there are a couple of current and a few ex staff who really ended up out of pocket keeping TBy afloat. Not all, some have never even donated (that's personal choice and not a criticism) but some have really put allot of their own money into this site. That can't go on forever as folk have real lives and their own bills to pay. They do without for something allot of people take for granted. I actually borrowed money one month to pay the site bills. At the end of the day staffing is a thankless job, well except for those who lord it in the forums
Find a legit way of taking donations, this is the only way it will work.
lolol in case you missed it this IS an ILLEGAL site so called LEGITIMATE ways of accepting donations are blocked. Anyways nothing illegitimate about what has been proposed. As I said sending money to a paypal account (which will end up frozen) as a donation where you receive nothing back is no different than sending money as a purchase to a host company where you receive nothing back.
Companies have figured out it's very difficult to bring down torrent sites so the new strategy is to simply choke off the money supply. This has happened to other sites not just us some bigger and some smaller. Due to that fact sites have to become more creative in their approach to collecting funds for the site.
But by all means regale us with one of your ingenious legal ways of collecting donations instead of the constant negative bullshit cause to be honest it's just starting to get on my tits as a lot of people have been trying to come up with a solution to this problem for some time.

You truly are full of shit!
Constant negative ? All i see is floods of people trying to help and occasionally those who care and often aren't "regular" posters on these forums giving their opinion, hel mend they arent all roses and perfume. read your own posts!
The community is what made torrentbits, and then torrentbytes, not staff, it's staff that's destroying it (me included there as im not infallible). You need to get over yourself, I left staff cos i was sick, sick of you and a few other issues, I wasn't alone in my feelings. So I find it amusing you have anyone getting on your tits. Pot and Kettle there. Only reason you are there is me!
People comment because they care, even despite the train wreck of the forums especially serious chat (or should I say the sniper show). How they have fallen rapidly lately.
So all of a sudden you are contributing to staff other than causing issues and pissing off users ? Wow how the worm turns!
People are told fuck all but doom and gloom so of course they are negative, made more so by your verbal diarrhea.
In my entire time on staff which is the majority of this sites existence you were a problem never a solution so don't go hitting a user with "they are getting on your tits", take a fukin reality check!
Perhaps the userbase should be told the real TBy history!
That comment was directed towards ONE person in particular not the userbase. In general the userbase has made some useful and interesting suggestions. Overt negativity without any suggestions or solutions is simply not useful at this point. That was the point of what I posted.

Whatever, berating one or all users is still dogshit!
getting on your tits , who the fuck do you think you are ?
Me not having a solution to the problem is irrelevant. Way to grasp at shit.
As it appears your having a problem understanding what I mean.
People on whole will not do anything other than donate to a site like this using a fully trusted and legit method. So hard to figure out is it?
Set this shit up, see a small number of donations, in fact it might buy us a bit more time but no great numbers of donors will donate in any other way than a trusted and known way.
This is just the way it is, unless this site is some magical place where the laws of human nature don't apply.
What is needed is large numbers of people to donate regular, you front have a hells chance of achieving this with anything like a "front" hosting company.
Not that my voice matters at all but instead of dragging this place through months of grasping at shit with scheme after scheme and dying a slow and painful death just have a final 7 day free leech mega bonanza thank you and fuck you to everyone and everything or something like that.
Go out with a bang, not covered in shit.
People on a whole are donating to a torrent site fully trusted and legit method or not.
You thinking there just going to ask for your card details? It would still be "donating" via a legit payment processor however you would not be giving your money to TB your would be giving it to a "hosting company". Hard to understand?

Not really. It's just that what you're meaning is wrong, demonstrably.

Tell that to the people who supported the fuppgamers servers.

**cough** See above.

Nope. If only 1% of the 32k+ user base made small donations it would be enough.

What's the point of free leech if the site was going to die? A good ratio at a nonexistent site?

they understand they just don't care. They want to have a good long moan about the state of things.
The users here would support this site in any way possible from buying non-existent services from a host site to paying for non-existent game servers (fuppgamers) to less "legit" ways of transferring cash like bitcoin etc. If you want to give up by all means you do know where the door is right? The rest of us won't give up no matter what happens.
I did put forth an alternative solution which would be more straightforward but we haven't enough time to implement it. I thought of asking users to join Second Life a virtual world online with it's own currency and economy. The users could then use their credit card to purchase the inworld currency and send it to an avatar controlled by an admin who could once a month cash out what is needed to pay the bills directly to a paypal account (it would also allow any excess money to be kept inworld out of reach of PP) which would eliminate the flood of donations which ultimately triggers PP to freeze our accounts. But this method still requires a person willing to pay the bills. Unfortunately it seems to take a week to 10 days to move money out of SL and into someone's PP account.
No point in being all negative. I see it as a possibility of keeping the site alive and that i´m willing to try. So instead of concentrating on the problems lets try and see the possibilities here and give it a shot.

I agree. this situation probably releases all the frustration in the staff and other "high ranking" people. But i don't want this thread to become a dick wielding contest. Maybe as a community, we could settle down and find some solutions. I have been looking at the forums for a while, and we have some brilliant minds floating around in here. I'm not saying that people haven't tried, but i just wanted to say this before this thread gets out of hand.
If the site goes away, lets go with a good attitude, not kicking and screaming to eachother.

Sounds like an idea that could work but like you send would require time and testing due to good chance SL will have something in place that would flag the behavior of a loads of brand new accounts transferring money to a single user. Could be possible to juggle the money through people thou kinda like a Pyramid but as said requires time.
I have been a part of this community for a very long time however don't use the forums much but I would like to help in some way if I can.

no one wants a rubber stamp with their name on it against the site donations. pay pal freezes etc are all dogshit imho, they happened to me then account was black listed but has that happened since? yes an influx in money = a block but then its unblocked. Lost account was due to reasons I already stated.
Normally I would keep quiet but VBG's bull shit makes me angry.
get someone with a set of nuts in to do whats needed and STFU or close the shop, all this fucking about with tickle this and stroke that leads to the same road that no one has the bottle to front the site.
If there's one thing I hate is folk talking shite, and its being poured on here.
Tell the bloody truth or say nothing.
@ VBG , you need to STFU permanently and keep your nose out of what has never concerned you. Anything related to running this site you had 0 to do with.
@ sniper, notice a silence there, silent admin eh!
@ Tokol , I am sorry this all fell on your shoulders but my hand was forced by others.
Jeezuz Bob you whine a lot.
You know what I was thinking when I was reading CrazyAmyB's useless negative and paranoid posts?
I wish I could delete his a/c and all his posts. He's a fucking trouble maker.
Edit:
Haha...he's been kicked out. Even if TBy was shut down I wouldn't want him to enjoy the last days anyway.
its seems there are bout 100 ways to fund the site but will 99.9% require someone sat waiting under the guillotine, now perhaps someone can explain this to me as i am unclear of the details but if this site is being funded by a few generous people are they under the guillotine now ?

The tax-free income from the numerous donations is what sends up the red flags to the authorities, prompting them to investigate.
What I do with my money is my business but when thousands upon thousands of dollars appear in my bank account for no legitimate reason, the government usually wants to know why.
I see, the way i read it a while ago was the site was being kept going by what i assumed where a few people paying out of there own pocket which i assumed meant they where just grabbing there debit cards and paying for hosting, my bad it seems
