how can you people say the design sucks, the design have been around since the 90's and I have no issues with DS design,no one that have played on all PS consoles have not either, only the xbox guys that cant stop complain,me myself I never had any issues with the DS design, except they could have made the controller more sturdy in case of my massive nerdrage from time to time<-<.
but the microphone is stupid shitt, and the led display is silly shitt to,what happened to select and start button?
and for the love of god not let those buttons be touchy.
maybee they will do the stupid thing that nintendo did with NES console in japan, the famicom that you can make certain noises and it does damage to enemys,LETS HOPE NOT.....
if the xbox people cant stop whining about the how bad the designs are for the current PS and ps1 and ps2,shitt the design was out and played nicely before xbox was ever thought of invented.if the xbox people cant comprehend regading the left joystick then go back to your shooty xbox and play with the xbox controller.
and kinect and Move should just die and burn,no gamer should have ever get their ass out of the couch and simply swatt the air,no,they should just sit down compfy and play motionlesssly,is that a word?
your not a gamer if you play with move and kinect, only casual people like that stuff.
People loved the DS but after xbox came into the picture all suddenly thought it was the worst shit, been playing since psx was released and the controller fits perfect in your hands.
There was a reason sony changed there bomerang ps3 controller cause all fans hated there new design, and tbh why change something millions of people already is used to and love.
But that picture is just prototype for developers im sure its gonna look much better on final design just 4days left and sony will show off ps4(orbis) for the first time, i dont mind the move/kinect but its just not me but a great thing for kids/families and i seriosly doubt we are gonna get force into using it for a "hardcore" gamer.
If u want a crazy looking controller take a good look at wii U i just cant imagine playing with that for hours its way too huge and im sure rather heavy also for that huge lcd screen.
I prefer the 360-control but dual stick for ps1 and 2 is awesome still. Much better D-pad. The D-pad on the 360 aint all that great.
As long as devs dev regular games as well I dont care if kinect and move is around, but when they try and sell it as the best kind of gamingdevice ever... and forcing devs to make games for it instead of regular games. Well they are just shooting themselves in the foot.

Yea, people used to be fine with the DS until both Nintendo and Microsoft came up with a much more ergonomical and better design.
Having the left joystick where it is on the DS it stupid, and the grips on the DS is also stupid, way too small, it hurts for longer periods of times, where as with both Gamecube and Xbox controls it doesn't.
Also, the bottom triggers on the DS3 is stupid, my fingers always glide off.
All in all, it's stupid, the reason the joysticks are where they are is because they're an afterthought from the PSX era.
Just because people were fine with it since the 90s doesn't mean that the other controllers are better, it just means that they had no other choice until now.

right right,I NEVER had any issues with the DS design.of your fingers hurt over longer period of time, your not a gamer:p.I can play on my ps3 to up til 12-15hours on weekends and it never hurt my hands.
and if your fingers glide of the controller its not the controller,it happens when you get sweaty on your hands, like really nervous of not facking up.
there is no need to change what has worked since you was in kindergarden,I mean come,if the design of shoulder buttons and d-pad didnt work out for the consumers Sony would have changed the design in the ps2 era im guessing.
and the d-pad has always been the same since PSX era to ps3era
Jesus christ you hopefully you will realize that you are talking about something that is personal. The ergonomics of the controllers depends on your hands and how you play.
I have the wireless Xbox controller for PC and the DS3 on my PS3. I think the PS3 controller is a little bit better in my hands although I have no problems at all playing with any of them.
So in the end its all down to personal preference and not something that is more or less ergonomically fit for the majority of the people.
fuck no once you go wireless you never want to go back, ever
I had plenty of them, they came with my x-box, but I bought wired after a month or two. Just hate wireless. Keyboards are about the only wireless thing I might accept, everywhere else... WIRES! WAAARGHHH!
Honestly, weight is good.
The Six Axis for example is just waaaay too light and is annoying to hold because of it, compared to the Six Axis DS3 that is.
gotta be honest that's the first time i see someone actually thinkin the dual shock weighs too much, usually it's the other way around :p
Well, it is mostly d irected to the wireless 360-controller which I think weights too much or maybe it gets hot after use. Somehow I always got sweaty palms when playing with it for a couple of hours. No such problem with the wireless PS3 DS or the usual wired 360.

So, what do you think it will be like? lets predict the future for a little bit
Let's say Microsoft comes out with a new XBOX late Summer of 2009.
- It will probably be turned more towards home entertainment.
- And completely backward compatible..
- you will be able to play your games in DVD but the new games will be downloaded.
- tons of RAM
- 5TB hard drive (fast, like SSD or 15000 rpm)
The games will probably be between 10-25GB and you will be able to download sections of it at time, lets say, as you beat the game the console downloads more. Hopefully the internets will be faster.. I dont know about the UK../ but around the world.
This console will finally beat the PS3 and it will also incorporate some Internet Graphic Video card, so you don't have to have all the punch in your system.. it can be rendered by a server somewhere else.
------------------------
Early 2010 Sony releases a kick ass PS4 - which will probably stick to a faster and bigger blu ray type of disk, heck they might even go back to cartridges.. like super fast ones.. but each one holding 1 TB of games and movies.
