Agreed, but there has been some fantastic indie titles this year. looking forward to next year, when most of the kickstarter projects are being released, and hopefully we'll get some news about some of the titles that have been long in development (final fantasy versus 13, the last guardian, HALF LIFE?!) since 2013 might be the last, or second last year until the next generation of console hardware takes over. Also a ton of (hopefully) great games coming.
if you go there... those are not from established studios or even AAA titles. The great talents of the business of gaming are doing the same thing over and over.
Thats hardly news. AAA-titles are such huge investments that companies dont dare try new things for that amount of money. If you want innovation you go to indie-games, or low budget stuff where they can dare explore different ways of interaction.
and besides, the people over at arkane studios (who made dishonored) are not nobodies, some of them have worked on huge titles in the past such as deus ex and half-life 2.
Assassin's Creed 3. Yawn. How can a game like that get 9/10 reviews? Seriously. It's like every Call of Battlefield: Medal of Ops has more engaging gameplay as well as a more captivating and fun singleplayer experience.

beats me dude,I tried nr1 when I got the ps3 and the gameplay was boring, guess people will praise a game thats easy so they can feel good about them selves.
I dont get how shooter games get 9/10 amost every time, but when new games like Nier,Bayonetta,CVLOS just an example it gets butchered in comparison to what shooter games gets.
I love hack n slash games and I have played every single of em on the PS era so far and reviewers all say the same that its a ripoff of gow series which I dont get since gow is way to easy,I can play that game blind and still kill enemys, cant do that with Ninja gaiden sigma, bayonetta for example.
which only proves my point that games with easy gameplay gets so good scores and games that have complexity/good combat gets shitt scores.Like Dantes Inferno,DI is an ace game with alot of fun in it,the combos are really nice and yet the game got crap score and it reviewers said that its gow rippoff, even tho gow3 wasnt released reviewers still praise gow like its the golden gooze.
I still havent beaten the last stage on road rash 3D and its been many years now since I first played it
im playing Test drive:ferrari racing legends and its a kickass game, some races are really hard and annoying.

Natural selection 2:
Great game. I haven't been playing for long but it's fast-paced and if done right, the teamwork is excellent.

Legends of Grimrock While I have to run bootcamp for NS2, this runs natively on my mac. Great dungeon crawler. Lots of puzzles and a great atmosphere. It has a nice difficulty too.
Just finished HAWX 2. What a letdown. Got in for cheap on Steam. But still regret it. The first one was fun. Like a scifi and worse version of Crimson Skies. The second one was just plain bad.
Also Secret Files 3. Very poor. An uninentional parody of itself. The series has gone downhill fast since the exciting and enjoyable original. Whatever happened to good aventure games?

The Walking Dead I suppose might be classified as an adventurgame... otherwise there are the Wadjet eye games.
Enjoying Guild Wars 2 again (gave up when I hit level 15 on my guardian, now rerolled a Thief and in 3 days I'm level 29) and Dark Souls on the PC, I'm rushing Dark Souls with a walktrough guide now because I want to make time to start with Devil May Cry on the Xbox.
