District 9. And hardly surprising since it takes place in a township.

The whole situation is quite the mess.

Lonmin, Amplats, Gold Fields and several other companies have been suffering these wild cat strikes for months now. The strikers hinder other workers and threaten them, engage in union feuds, kill eachother and policemen. The government is backing the mining companies while Julius Malema (controversial former leader for ANC's youth league) supports the miners and uses the situation to launch attacks against Zuma.

Isn't the rest of the world a good ten years behind the USA on drone tech?  Makes me think it is either one of America's or some kids RC Airplane.

well Iran has one of our most advanced drones that they captured which undoubtedly is in the hands of the Chinese by now and our good old buddy Israeli have probably already reversed engineered our drones and are selling the tech to the highest bidder as usual.

The US has the most diverse fleet as far as I know, but I wouldn't say you are 10 years ahead in tech.

*tin foil hat on* False flag attack to give Israel a reason to attacks its neighbours? :-O

"Contrary to Palestinian reports, it appears the UAV did not originate in the Gaza strip."

Ya think?

US drone technology is nowhere near what it's claimed to be.  If it weren't for rangers getting sent out to blow or recover the pos devices every family in Afghanistan would have one.  Grumman, nor the Pentagon, will never concede to their abysmal record.

Final update to the Libya story and to nobody's  surprise it turns out Obama  lied and the state department threw him under the bus today to save their own asses....

State Dept reveals new details of Benghazi attack

so it was a preplanned attack that had absolutely nothing to do with the video. Just goes to show you how quickly some people are willing to give up our most important constitutional right based on lies of politicians trying to get reelected.

What a massive cock-up. Glad it's being revealed though. A bit alarming how easily the safety rooms can be compromised though, isn't it?

The taliban claim responsibility for shooting a teenage Pakistani girls' rights activist.

Quote:

A 14-year-old Pakistani student who won international acclaim for speaking out for girls barred from school by the Taliban was critically wounded Tuesday by a gunman who boarded her school bus, asked for her by name, aimed his pistol at her head and fired, officials said.

The Pakistani Taliban asserted responsibility for the attack on ninth-grader Malala Yousafzai, who gained notice in early 2009 when she wrote a diary about Taliban atrocities under a pen name for the BBC’s Urdu service. Yousafzai lives in Mingora, a city in the scenic northwestern Swat Valley, where Taliban insurgents imposed harsh Islamic law for two years before being routed by a major military operation in May 2009.

Taliban says it shot Pakistani teen for advocating girls’ rights

Honestly, we can't help these countries. Not as long as elementary education is in a free fall while Quran schools are replacing them, all with the governments' approval.

it is sounding even worst than that apparently there were dozens of incidents against the consulate prior to the attack and they even cut the security contingent against the ambassadors wishes.  Of course what is typical of the "press" on the BBC world news site right now the lead story is not this new damning information about the Obama administration trying to cover up the assassination of a n ambassador and pinning it on some nobody american who made a movie placing his life at risk, but on evil Romney telling a story about how he had met one of the seals by chance at a holiday party.

We've got multiple dead Americans, including an ambassador and several decorated service men due to Obama and Hillary's gross incompetence, and a blatant in your face cover up by the highest levels of government.

Of course it's not news worthy to the Obama sack sucking news outlets.

exactly dont expect the interview of one of the other dead americans mother who is sick of constantly being lied to about how her son died to make the bbc front page...

Mother of Slain State Dept. Official Tired of Being Lied To and Stonewalled by Obama Administration

the bbc has a narrative to create about Romney

In fairness she's a rightfully pissed off woman but the place was chaos.  It could be hard to say for certian exactly how he died if there were no direct witnesses.

Take out Obama and Hillary and replace with Bush and Cheney

may I ask where the fuck was your righteous indignation then?
I'll bet you are ready with a hundred excuses as to why GWB told the world a bold faced fucking lie that cost the lives of 6,280 US soldiers in a bullshit war on terror

In a tent outside Baquba.

The justification for the Iraq invasion is certainly argueable, but the two situations have nothing  in common.  Press coverage of the matter was the point.  Bush got crucified by the press for a debatable lie, but Obamas bullshit story that his own state department debunked barely gets mentioned.

I love how blatent lies on the floor of the UN are reduced to  simply "debateable" while Obama's is a "bullshit story"

Don't get me wrong neither one is correct not even close, but the fucking hypocricy of republicans taking anybody to task about being honest to the public is laughable

of course Bush lied there is no debate to that the point I was making is only one party ever gets called out for it. And in this case not only does Obama not get called out for it the press actually try to spin it to make Romney the bad guy.

In other ME news the syrian conflict is escalating even more....

Turkey, Seeking Weapons, forces Syrian Jet from Russia to Land

this really has the potential of drawing in some major powers, very scarey.

Only one party ges called out on lying?

I seem to remember a recent democrat president being almost impeached for openly "lying" about fucking his intern

Bush might have been taken to task in papers but at least Clinton's lie only cost the US taxpayers the price of drycleaning a dress

You are kidding right the press actually tried to cover that whole thing up until Drudge got a hold of it and made it public.

That's because nobody knows for sure if it was a lie or not. Clearly it could have been, but there are also many other possible reasons why stockpiles of WMD were not found in Iraq.  Therefore, debatable is the proper term.  Any soldier or marine who spent 2 months in a mop suit can tell you that the military took the threat seriously.

On the other hand the current administration had all the information in hand, as attested to by their own people, and chose to conceal it by blaming the attacks on some bullshit youtube video as to not make their foreign policy appear lacking just before an election.  The fact Obama and his surrogates  were all over tv spouting things they knew weren't true is NOT debatable.

@mbodnar
it's cute that you still try to defend the wmd lie. It was and remains as clear a lie a "I did not have relations with that woman" no matter how you try to justify it. I had no problems attacking afghanistan but every reason to attack iraq has been shown to be a lie or blatent hypocricy (ie we attacked them because they failed to comply with un resolutions) thus the need to change the reason to "we are bringing democracy to the Iraqi people"

even Qbert admits the idea of wmds was a fairytale.

and again I am not defending obama for lying..just sayin those in glass houses..................

Hezbollah has now claimed responsibility for the drone and claims it was made in Iran. A very interesting and, for Israel, convenient development.

Impeachment steps:

Step 1:
The House decides if a crime has been committed and they impeach.

Step 2:
The Senate decides if the crime warrants firing the person who has been impeached.

He is and will always remain impeached.
