This latest episode sucked. What's his face's daughter has gotta be a complete moron.

Stay with the 2nd Mass. and have protection, safety and food? Not to mention your father? Nah I wanna go run off with my boyfriend and live with a bunch of 8-12 yr olds in dingy warehouses. We will be able to protect ourselves. It's not like we were seconds away from being harnessed or anything.

well, like in pretty much every episode there are logical fuck-ups in this one, too, but i wouldn't count this among them
sure, it might not have been the smartest decision, but i might just have made the same myself (like she said, they're gonna need her)

her stupid bf bothered me more - guess he's the one to blame, following up one stupid call with another n whatnot
they should've all stayed

expected logic from this show. Let me go with the guy who not more than a few hours earlier got us all captured by the aliens, strapped to a table, and would have had an alien attached to my spine had it not been for my father and his militia saving us.

so next time i can put the dumb fuck in his place and save dem kids, ya know.

Logically they should have stayed with the 2nd mass, but Weaver wouldn't be an effective leader if he was worrying about his daughter every minute of every day.  It would have gotten old, quickly, and the writers would have written themselves into a hole.

I dunno, parts of this last episode bugged the shit out of me.
It felt so cliche that when Karen came back Hal lost all common sense and fell over backwards believing any bullshit that came out of her mouth. Not only that he then goes and tells that other blonde chick that he thinks his BROTHER Ben is trying to "recruit" poor, old innocent Karen.

To make it even worse, Ben then falls for her too. I honestly thought he was playing her. I was hoping when he lead her out to the roof he would take her out. But no, he runs away with her. After he complained at the beginning how she would manipulate Hal.

Ditto.  I'm still hopeful Ben is playing her and just wants to take out a couple of aliens as well.

unfortunately this doesn't seem like the kind of show that pulls off that sort of plot, it will be more along the lines of him being all in until he realizes what she is really up to not him playing her from the get go. I'll go out on a limb and even go with his dad and the alien have to team up to save him storyline.

Thanks.

So I just finished the first season, and I have mixed feelings about the show. It's like watching a cross between The Terminator and The Walking Dead. Just like in the zombie series, they focused more on the drama and the survival of the human race, instead of atleast some action. I'd take it the other way, but it's not even the thing that bothers me most. The first season had some big plot holes, not to mention it's predictable as hell. And the ending... Wow, lame.

Now, on to season two...

got better season two, it's at least not as "family friendly" cheesy as the first season.

Ha! The introduction of that new alien dude is the only reason I will be tuning into season 3 now.

the major problem is that I assume the cgi cost to put those new alien dude in must be crazy expensive (way more detailed than simple skitters or overlords) so their screen time will be next to nothing.

And yet thousands(?) of them landed on the planet.

I bet they will talk through the humans again, forcing the focus away from the cgi itself

i dont get what the problem is with cgi it should be fairly cheap now. I mean DR.
Who has great cgi and i doubt it is a huge budget show.

True, but look at the cost difference in the actors, there are some "almost big" stars in Falling Skies, compared to Dr Who who usually casts nobodies near enough, you can see how they manage it!

I don't even know any of the falling skies actors, I have never seen them before except that doctor, and she is like not even a b rated actor

The doctor and captain weaver for me. The rest I've never seen before.
Oh wait I recognized "Maggy" too. Only because I'm a fan of Smallville and remember an episode she was in, lol. But yeah, definitely not big actors.

And Jamil who seems to be typecast as a guy who likes 'em young (The Killing).

Dont forget Noah Wyle (Tom Mason) he did 254 Episodes of ER, thats got to be considered a good stint of TV work!

thats rather dull comment dont you think?
why would they introduce a new alien type if they was gonna be next to nothing for screentime for em?
me personally think they are grown up's from the skitter world, since skitters have been harnessed. So most likely this new alien will help the humans to get revenge, doubt they introduce new aliens as enemys when Earth is already overrunned by overloards and skitters.
