I honestly can't say...
They can't seem to make up their minds on if I can do this on their precious computer network... :/

Hoping to either get it up and running or get a "NO." by early next week.

Heh. Just this weekend alone I've gotten TWO separate offers for temporary hosting while I get this sorted out

Makes me smile every time I see that people still care...

Anyway, I've got some classes to attend today (Stupid 4pm-6pm math class, seriously, WTF?)
But after that I should have an answer. Even if I don't, I'll get it running tonight. Somehow.

In a couple weeks I might be able to run the server if you like. Pretty sure my PC could handle it. But I would only be able to run at limited times (daytime - GMT 0) as I can't sleep with my computer on as it is damn loud. Let us know what the uni people think of running the server on their network!

Gah. Uni people are EXTREMELY paranoid about their silly network.

Looking around for any and all hosting solutions... Let me know if you find anything that can run 24/7...
(I'll be quite busy, what with my double math courses and programming on top of that.)

So THAT'S what's been going on! I was afraid we were down for good. Finally found a computer I could hook my laptop HDD to (and access my passwords), laptop still being worked on. No idea how long it will take. I'm actually hoping they can't fix it and will give me a full refund.

Could we maybe post a minimum requirements post for any possible hosts. Just so they could gauge whether or not their setup could handle/support hosting the server. Things like baseline ISP up/down speeds, computer build requirements. Just to give them the option if they're willing to host...

Well then:

Since I can't host it from my appartment, here are some BARE minimum specs the server needs.

CPU: Dualcore, anything above 1.5 gHz
RAM: At LEAST 2 gigs for the server, plus another gig or so for OS (So basically 4 gigs)

Internet: Downstream doesn't matter much, upstream is most important.
10/10 is better than 25/5 for instance.

10/10 is about what I'd like for this size server.

Space: Server takes up ~4 gigs of disc space.

Misc: Latest Java 7

And, if at all possible: Locally hosted SQL for the Hawkeye plugin.

Will change OS next week though but no problems there and maybe upgrade the hardware.

Edit: forgot the current OS is 32bit so it will be up as soon as i have installed the new OS.
