Not that I think you want to completely change the setup or anything but have you seen or used MineOS Crux at all?

Handles everything within it's webui (backups, restarts, etc) and makes the most out of whatever hardware it's running on as it has a very small OS footprint.

Server seems down. You guys need better host, contact me - i have a pretty decent virtual environment (in an actual DC) that it could fit into

Static IP's and whatnot. Could perhaps donate a domain name aswell (reseller for all common gTLDs)

Server has not had any significant downtime since I took over, something might be wrong on your end if you cannot connect.

Ya know... this is so annoying.

I'm waiting for my GF to return (next week), so, in theory, I've got a lot of free time, right? I could be playing Minecraft with you lads, perhaps finish that tree I once started and so forth.

But noooo... work, house-stuff, Diablo 3 and Borderlands with a RL friends of mine. And then it's half past midnight already. :weep:

you need optifine or mcpatcher for this to work as it is higher resolution

Hey guys, Goalieguy16 here, I think I'm banned from the server for trying to edit some locked down blocks. I was helping tally landscape around his new mall and was trying to map out the unlocked/locked blocks when I was disconnected from the sever and haven't been able to reconnect since. Wasn't trying to grief anyone, just movin' some dirt..

Okay, in case you haven't been on in the past 2 days:

We're seriously considering moving up to a Tekkit-server.
If you don't know, Tekkit is the multiplayer version of the Technic-modpack for minecraft.

In short; it is amazing.
Check this link if you're curious: http://www.technicpack.net/

What this means, is that in the future you'll need tekkit in order to play here.
(Even if you aren't planning on using any of the INSANE stuff in tekkit)

Thankfully, having tekkit is rather easy these days.
All you'd need to download is the TechnicLauncher from the above mentioned website.

But, this is not something that'll just happen one morning.

I'd have to do some work in order to make everything work.

Naturally, we'd still keep the world we currently have.
We're kinda not sure how we'd handle the fact that Tekkit needs a new world in order to work properly.

Anyway; on to the reason I'm writing this megapost!

I'm almost done setting up a "test" version of the current server, except in Tekkit-form.
Anyone who'd be interested in participating in a test (some fun, maybe some nukes, who knows.)

Is welcome to send me a PM. (Hopefully I won't just get 9001 PMs.)

Also, anything that happens during the test, would not stick to the "real" world.
It's just a test. Not a "real" server move-thing.

EDIT: Forgot to say, during the test (which will happen monday or tuesday)
the regular server will NOT be accessible.

So... yea. Depending on how many people who'd like to test it, we should be able to get it done in a day or two, and then get the proper server up and running for everyone.
