Yeah it's because hMod's predictive sending of world data sucks.

hMod is buggy to no end these days. :/

Does anyone else want to build a new world? Every time I find new caves they've already been explored, and even going adventuring I keep coming across torches;

Go to the other side of the skyway and explore over there!

for adventuring just take the skyline to the other site and search for some caves there.

its only natural that all the caves in our area are explored cause all people digg like crazy

If you really want to explore: Just head off into a direction, cross the sea and keep going.

The world is about 8x the size of the Earth.
(Albeit randomly generated as it is explored)

You see, the only world data that is stored, is where people have been.
That is all the map renders

Okay the dedicated machine is somehow MAJORALLY screwed up.
And I have no idea HOW.

Most of them hardware itself has been tested as working in other machines...

But somehow, when it's all in my rig, nothing frigging happens.

If anyone has a spare machine they could run 24/7 that's on a decent connection...
I'm willing to host this offsite.

Because running it on my gaming rig is chewing up almost ALL my ram.

In the meantime me and Fakaa found a HUGE ASS CAVE. And when I say huge I fuckin mean it lol. Take the skyline, and at the end go left and a bit back, we`ll mark it. It would take the 2 of us days to clear it.

Died 3 damn times in the cave last night ffs, once to mobs and twice to lava. Lost 2 sets of armor, diamond tools and most important, a stack of mossy cobblestone :weep:

Man, a lot seems to have happened the last few days ive been gone

The only negative about that is that I am one of those who feel that the spawn shouldnt be clustered with things. I would like to keep it relatively clean. But hey thats just me. Im going to wander of into nowhere and start my own thing

What do you mean, the spawn is just a big room with the skyline going from it.

Im not saying it has become that cluttered yet but its probably going to. But whatevs. Moved out of spawn anyways so I wont be bothered by it.

There are alot of resources in my house under the big tree. Take whatever you want but don't touch the house as it is!

:s it's cool if you want to stop for now until it gets dedicated.

anyway, i was surfing the mod section of the minecraft forum and my head was going to explode, so many fucking good mods it is unreal man.

Okay guys...

The plan currently is this:

I'm gonna have to take the server offline. Atleast until bukkit replaces hMod.
I'm sorry, but I kinda want to use my gaming rig for something else than Minecraft every now and then.

I am gonna upgrade it soon though... Which should take care of the problems with the dedicated machine...

Stay on the lookout for news, but sadly, for now:

Server on hiatus. (I'll keep the world intact and the map online though.)

Not recommended unless one of the biggest bugs were fixed for beta. There is one or several horrible mem-leaks that gets worse the more you explore in a world, and at a certain point you have no choice but a reset. Happened 3 times on a pre-beta server, and we had barely started scratching the surface of the world.

News, glorious news!

I just tried out the 0.0.1 beta release of Bukkit...

It uses less than half the RAM hMod did.

Waiting eagerly for the full, proper release...

EDIT: Also, minecarts were a whole lot less buggy.

EDIT2:
The beta is not without flaws though...

Minecarts are limited to halfspeed.
Open doorways can't be walked through.

EDIT3:
But it gets fixes daily... Stay tuned!
If it gets stable enough, we might se the return of the non-dedicated server!

ah, i see. i did not know we had a minecraft server here.

btw how much ram were you using for the server? mine is running on 512mb right now and it works great, i may get a ram update sometime in the near future, if it gets more popular. this is pretty much just me and 9 other friends but you guys are free to join mine in the meantime if you'd like..

its on 24/7..

there is no whitelist
online mode is off.

we try to make the game as real as we can so there is no auto heal and you have to eat to stay alive.

there is a bunch of other plugins in there such as craftbook
