Just bought minecraft
Running a server myself. Just a ordinary nothing special server though.

Sorry for not working on the server this past week...
We've had a bit of a heat wave... With temperatures upwards of 32 Celcius...

Left me kinda drained after work...


Gonna work on optimizing the server software / updating bukkit to make it actually playable with more than 4 people.

*SIGH* Stupid 1.6 update making CPU load go through the roof.

EDIT: Updated to CB build #860...

Claims to perform better. We shall see.

EDIT2: And a spot of downtime as I moved the rig into another room.

Curse you, heatwave!

EDIT3: But apparently, nobody even cares. Been VERY quiet on the server lately.

Yeah, I'm also having problems getting kicked off. Cannot join at all now, just gives me end of stream. Also, the server was running with considerable lag, almost unplayable. Third, Minecart Mania obsidian blocks are totally fucked up. Its fixed in the new alpha build though.

Not TBY minecraft server related but there is minecraft map of the earth, takes up 3,49 GB (3 748 945 667 byte) decompressed.

Think my laptop will choke loading it.

Hmm was no difference loading it, think it was faster even, could be because it didn't have to do any rendering of new terrain while playing. Still don't know if I want a map taking up that kind of size on the hd. Fun thing to try nonetheless I guess.

Upgrading the CPU and OS.

Goes to E7300 and Ubuntu Server x64

At most, 40 minutes of data will be lost when the server returns.
