on some other forums they say thats the new "The server is outdated" msg -_O

If you read the previous posts, hubbe has said he wouldn't update the server to 1.5 until bukkit has a stable release, so if you've updated your client, then yea you won't connect.

I've got an idea for a nice little monument to build in Circle City. Since no admin seems to be around at this moment, I figured I'd write that down, lest I forget.

I'd like to build a glass lava/water double-helix in the city. So I'd need two things: permission and a suitable location (it requires a 7x7 base, and can be as tall as you want it); might go all the way to the glass dome, which would be pretty awesome for a central pillar, but there's a tower doing that already. Perhaps, as a more bad-ass project: build 4 of them around as "support" pillars for the glass dome in an X formation around the city? Still, I'd need permission and suitable locations.

Alternatively it can be smaller, with a 5x5 base, but it'd still be nice to have an extra block or two on the outside during construction.

There's really only one free spot in circle city left...

And that's next to the police station. In the same quadrant as the church.

Well, it's a 5x5 or 7x7 thing, so it doesn't need much space. I was thinking of building 4 on the road intersections (where the circular path intersects with the roads leading away from the central tower), but I've noticed those are 3(+1)x3(+1) in size (with 1 being the fences). (So exactly 5x5...) It wouldn't have been a problem, but some of the structures around are too close, and there wouldn't be any way to walk around these...

UNLESS...

You'd be fine in having, instead of those little fence "courtyards" smaller glass domes or in other words: a glass water / lava pillar with the base hollowed out so people can walk through. It would also mean people can look up from below for a possibly very cool effect.

Here's my suggestion: if you don't mind, I'd start building one at one of the not-so-dense intersections. That way, it wouldn't get in the way, and the intersections themselves are easy to rebuild if the effect turns out to be "meh". What do you say?

Build if you want to... But add the lava last. That way it's easiest to undo if it does look meh-ish.

Of course.

I'll also add a small sand or cobblestone "protection" around it. It won't look pretty, but it's only for the construction.

EDIT: Go check out the prototype. I think the effect would be awesome if extended all the way to the top.

First pillar is done. I dare say it looks quite bad-ass!

I am a bit worried however. This thing is FRAGILE. Any chance it could be protected from damage? Busting one of of the blocks wouldn't end well (unless it's near the water spiral).

On the OTHER hand, if fire-spread is disabled, then I guess the damage wouldn't be that severe.

Finally, I'd love to hear some input. If everyone likes it, I'll go make the other 3 pillars.

And one last thing... do you want the lanterns as they were around the pillar? (I've placed one for comparison)

We are currently at 1.4_01

The 1.5 update messed up some things with Bukkit... So I'm waiting until it gets sorted.

Also I never respond to whitelist requests... I just add them to the whitelist and then delete them.

meanwhile in minecraft tycoon 3, everyone is enjoying the new flying-disabler. when anything bugs out, you get disconnected with the no fly rule :/ might be agood thing thou, must put alot of stress on the server!

hej guys i wanna play but i'm having problems running the 1.4 version, as soon as i run it it updates to the latest and i can't connect (it says connection lost end of stream)
i am using a pirated version

any help is a appreciated

Hmm... I wanted to show my brother some of the cool things people have built on the server.

I also wanted to show some of the more "tech" crazy things, such as the traps around Redstone, so I left all my stuff in a chest and approached. Sure enough, I end up in a dark place taking damage and my brother was impressed. What's less impressive is that I can't seem to log back in. :-/

I reset your player.dat file... You should be okay to return now.

I'm running a private server with my friends (using a hacked version of hmod) as well and saw your list Kakkaman, i was just wondering how do you keep people from scouting out too far? At the moment buckit is kind of a downer because it does not have a addon like Borderlands Otherwise i would've switched a loooong time ago.
