Quite a few people have seen this error lately...

I have no idea what causes it... Could be related to the 1.4 update.

For now, try connecting with one of these:

hubbeking.no-ip.org

hubbeking.no-ip.org:8123

One of these should work.

No, just annoying, since it fills up the forum with pointless posts.

ALSO; We're starting to reach the limit of what the server can handle while running on an already pretty busy computer...

For now, I'm gonna restart the server AT LEAST twice a day to free up ram.

We'll see how long it takes before I can get new hardware for the dedicated.
(Between donations and my spare cash, I'm about halfway there)

(Sorry, it's just that Portal 2 is coming out... I kinda want my RAM for myself...

)

1. That`s totally fine, restarts are fast anyway, you can do it even more often if it needs. I`m sure nobody would mind a short break.

2. Uhm you might wanna rephrase that cause to me it just sounds like you`re expecting money from them. Don`t get me wrong, you`re doing us a big favor by hosting the server, but that just feels like blackmail.

Ok, so it seems the lag problem in SMP seems to be quite widespread and there is no fix yet. For some it started with 1.3 and others with 1.4. You can read about it here:

Starting a new map from scratch will not solve anything. You might have no lagging areas at first but it will occur sooner or later. The error lies in the game code, and we just have to hope it gets fixed with 1.5.

Ok, so i just bought the game. Just spent 2 hours trying to figure out some basic stuff... But maybe when I'm all pro I'll join the server ^^

I excluded Minecraft from my Antivirus program and ran hubbeking.no-ip.org. Solved that problem for me. Never tried the latter with the "/" I think without excluding

Well, if it fixes this weird lag issue that appears not to be ping latency related, I'm definitely all for the 'aye'. A new opportunity for new structures and dreams people. Look at it as moving on to greener pastures. Improve and make better what we had!

After doing some research into this lag thing...

We'll have to live with it...

And hope 1.5 fixes it.

EDIT: O.o Our first rulebreaker.

kriller1987 was found guilty of stealing large amounts of diamonds.

As it was his first time, he was warned, fined 50,000 and jailed for two hours.

RULEBREAKING OR HACKING OF ANY KIND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

I'd like to point out to people that I'm not gonna make the server 1.5 compatible immediately.

It's probably gonna take some time for the plugins we use to get updated.

So stick with 1.4_01 until I say so. Okay?

Okay, today will likely see lots of downtime.

Our ISP thinks it's perfectly OKAY to tell us that we're gonna be without internet for most of the day,
TWO HOURS BEFORE THEY DISCONNECT US.

SIGH.

I need help.

Could someone, once the downtime is over, help me with my automated tree-harvester? It seems simple enough, yet for some reason it doesn't want to work. :weep:

I've placed some rails, two white blocks on either end, a gold block in the middle (am I correct in thinking that the white blocks turn the cart around while the gold speeds it up?).

I've written

Max speed : 5
Range : 7
AutoTimber
AutoForest

on a sign next to the gold block, and brackets appeared, so I'm guessing that worked. The speed was just so I could stop it more easily.

I've then placed a chest on one of the ends and written

Collect Items
Log

on a sign I placed next to it. I've made a storage-cart and placed some saplings inside. Last time I looked it was driving both ways but it didn't plant any of the saplings it had in store.

It only replants sapling in the same place where it harvests a tree. You need to plant the initial trees.

AutoTimber = Cut down tree and collect log and sapling
Range = Cutting range from cart (not sign)
AutoForest = Replant sapling

The collecting chests should be next to the rail, not on the end. Otherwise the carts might glitch and go into the chest (acts as a cart dispenser).

Also, all signs should be at least 2 blocks from each other.
