Yeah but i did that when i reset to factory settings the ps3, i had to re-do all the monitor configuration and stuff ( was in HDMI then -> multimanager still crashed)

Also when i do it with component cable, the washed out colours are still there! :S

How fast are your ftp uploads going?
I'm using the multiman built in ftp client, and I'm getting 1,7 MB/s on average.
I'm uploading wirelessly.

Yes, I believe so.

I have not done any of the psn login methods in the past and I just installed the 3.60 spoof .pkg file, launched it, hit X I think it was, then it told me to restart my PS3 and that was it, all done.

If you have had fuckpsn or anything I think you have to put the original certificate files back but having said that my friend is on PSN right now playing Black Ops using the latest fuck psn method.

Which one is the best I cant say but the easiest is certainly the spoof.

Thanks im gonna try it now

appreciate it

So still no JB for 3.56 and still no .MKV support and other bits....

And yet they said the sole reason to hack the machine was to allow homebrew and things to run.....Such as .MKV support and that playing pirated games was NOT the priority....

And yet.....

Here we are happily able to play any game we want and yet do very little else

Can someone please answer my question if 1.7 MB/s is normal?

Moosdijk wrote:

for wireless its not abnormal

use utp instead. uploaded 8games yesterday via utp (filezilla) got between 9-13 MB/s and that took some time

straight, manually set ip-adresses in same range (i dont use a router)
192.168.1.1
192.168.1.2

works like a charm.

Thanks, will check that out. Right now I've got an external ntfs drive to work, so I'm going to see what the speeds are on that one.

Does anyone play red dead redemption?
I've got two versions, a 7 Gb and a 9 Gb one.
the larger one is with the undead nightmare dlc.
When I start that one, it goes straight to the dlc. I want to play the other one first.
Am I missing something?

Also, can I update games? Every other game asks me to update before I play.

PSXscene.com wrote:

Just over a week ago PlayStation 3 hacker Mathieulh confirmed finding a PS3 3.56 Exploit, and today drizzthacks tweeted part of an IRC chat log where Mathieulh stated the following regarding PS3 Firmware 3.60 running homebrew code, as follows:

"[03:15] while you are insulting me like morons, I already have code running on 3.60, and I am laughing, and guess what ? I am happy I stopped sharing, you can hate me for it, I don't care."

On IRC, Mathieulh also posted a video of his own but then privatized it currently rendering it unavailable:

Mathieulh: actually you want video proof, let's share one for the lol
Mathieulh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nknwBz-2v8c

Shortly following, another PS3 3.60 JailBreak video was posted followed by the user removing it and reposting it with another account.

From IRC on the alleged PS3 3.60 JailBreak video:

mastag23: just fyi:
mastag23: that is fake
mastag23: it would look legit if he hadn't of ran the debugging station launcher
mastag23: You fail "Connected from 192.168.0.2 on port 1000" (port might be wrong pretty blurry.
mastag23: This is a debug unit. That can't be done on a retail unit. Run the Debugging Station Launcher on a retail and the debug tools won't connect to it, yours obviously does
mastag23: debugging station launcher cant be connected to on retail
mastag23: if he hadnt of posted debugging station launcher
mastag23: he would be believable

The video shows a package installing and the new online save function, which was added in PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.60.

Time will tell, but my feeling from the videos and the tweeting... this may be the real deal.

I hate this twat, he should be called "Facebook" just for the attention whore that he is. I don't even own a PS3 and I would happily drive over to France just to break his jaw

Why even mention it if you are not going to release it? = ATTENTION WHORE!

Undead Nightmare is standalone and does not contain the original game.

Yeah you can update just fine, updated every time its asked for any game I have tried, no problems.

K, but don't update the psn games right?
I updated one and had to re-install because it didn't work anymore.

edit

Can I rename games from within multiman? RRD and the expansion have both got the same name.
The only way to check beforehand now is to check the filesize.

That looks to be the sort of thing I am looking for ! At least there is finally some movement on that front. I am in 3.56 though so guess I need to wait for that to he hacked first...... will be interesting to see the layout in terms of viewing the content of movies and music etc.....

Thanks for letting me know about this.

Dunno why Sony dont just release MKV support, would counter against some piracy for sure.

I have a system update waiting, cant see there being MKV support though

Sony have the potential to make their PS3 a fantastic media server machine just like the xbox (original) was and actualy still is.

I can't understand half of what you're saying, but I've got an answer for question 2.
I would suggest staying on 3.56
