I have not tried a psn game yet only full games.

I think you have to put the game folder (psn games) in the GAMES folder then install it via a .pkg file.

edit: Found this info for worms

How to install
1. Copy the folder "NPEB00081" to PS3: /dev_hdd0/game
2. Copy the file "WORMS00000000001-A0101-V0100.pkg" to USB media.
3. PS3: Install Package File from the Jail Break XMB.

edit: Don`t let it update to the latest version otherwise it will not have its licence !

edit: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f6/multiman … sed-77367/

The very popular MultiMAN contiunes to be updated, by our developer Deank and he recently added the feature of clearing all the PS3 pushlist's and other logged usage to maybe help in protecting your console from PSN banning in the future! - Now with SYSCALL36 support and the ability to load blackscreen games from external! (COD:MW2, Split/Second, etc)

yeah i tried that too
Only got an "An error has occured -lotsofnumbers-"-error when trying to run it from XMB, and MultiMAN wouldn't even find it.

I actually bought that ages ago (like any damn self respecting Worms fan !!!! hehe), when I get some spare time tomorrow I will try a few psn titles I don't already have.

Will let you know if I find anything useful out.

#1373639 by Devilizer (Power User) at 2011-01-31 20:22:20 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Might be that it is a PSN title.
I'll try with a standard game

EDIT: How do i uninstall a package btw?
I'd like to remove Worms now

highlight it, hit triangle and then delete, assuming your on about one that's listed in the games section of the xmb ?

#1373782 by Devilizer (Power User) at 2011-02-01 02:07:47 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Ok, so I tried another game.  Soldner X. Got it installed, but when i try to run it, it tells me i need to renew my PSN license for the game.
Any way to get around that?

#1373808 by unknown[9089] at 2011-02-01 07:25:40 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

its a psn title right ?

I don't think there is a scene release of it, or at least I cant find it.

I honestly have no idea, its wanting to "activate" on psn, no way around that I think other than signing it or whatever the scene groups do with psn titles to make them work.

i dont have a cfw on mine, but i thought you install PSN games pkg's via the "install Package" on xmb? the thing you installed multiman with

#1373857 by Devilizer (Power User) at 2011-02-01 12:10:16 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Yeah you are probably right Dave. It ended up in the XMB in the end, so guess it's another PSN game. Darnit
Really getting the hang of this file manager tho

I have another issue tho.
I have FTP installed on my PS3, and tried to copy files through it, but it's soooo damn slow.
It seems instead of cionnecting directly via the network, it's connecting via internet, if you understand what i mean?
If it was through the network i'd be limited to the speed of the network card and/or disk read/write speeds, but now it seems i'm limited to my routers in/out speeds (from my ISP).
Would it work to connect the lan cable directly between my PC and my PS3 instead of through my hub/switch?
I had the same problem when i used media server for watching movies and listening to music. Even mp3's took minutes to load, as if the PS3 had to download them "externally" instead of directly trough the network.

@Devilizer: I've got the same issue with the transfer rate and sometimes my router/modem just turns itself off when I'm transfering data. My max speed is 2mb/s which sounds pretty low to me.

#1373873 by Devilizer (Power User) at 2011-02-01 13:12:31 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

i'm not even getting that 50kb/s or so
I'm considering reformatting my 500 WD external to fat32, but that means i have to move the 400gb on it somewhere else But since i'm limited to 4gb size files anyway, i might as well just use my 8gb flash drive 'til i get my FTP problem sorted..

I use multimans built in ftp

This is what I do.

Connect a network cable from the PS3 to an Ethernet port on my router.

Load up Multiman and then load up Flash FXP on my PC, on Multiman at the bottom there is an IP address.

On Flash FXP I hit F8 and this brings up quick connect, enter the IP from the Multiman screen to the address bar of the quick connect section on Flash FXP, hit connect, no pass or any other details needed.

Navigate to the folder with the GAMES folder in it and send over my game.

I don't recall exactly what speeds I got last time I transfer`d a game to the PS3 but it certainly wasn't slow, took about maybe 15 mins for a 15 or so GB game and I don't think that's very long.

I don't know why it would be doing it via the internet when your connecting directly to the ps3 IP address over LAN :hmmm:

Perhaps its a router setting or something ?

#1373940 by Devilizer (Power User) at 2011-02-01 16:07:35 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

yeah that's what i've been trying too, except Gaia built in FTP as I can't find the built in one in multiMAN. Can't even see the IP.

EDIT: Nevermind about the multiMAN IP, i just found it

I do basically the same as you, except i connect my PS3 and PC to a hub instead of the router directly. the hub is then again connected to the router.

I guess that's the problem...

Anyone have some good trackers for games to recommend?

#1373957 by Devilizer (Power User) at 2011-02-01 17:14:06 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Solved the FTP problem.
Used an "old" router (locked to my old ISP) instead of the hub. and i was able to connect via 10.0.0.1/10.0.0.2 connections. Using the old router i won't be able to connect to the internet tho, but that just means swapping cables when i'm going to FTP stuff.
The "internet" router we have here is basically just a modem. it has 4 lan ports, but only 1 is usable.

Long story short. I have FTP now Just a bit rough on the edges

Apparently... once there is a 3.56 CFW, and we start using it (Because of game reqs or whatevs.)

The days of CFW's going online to PSN are over :/

Not certain yet but very likely, may see a workaround of sorts but its just one of those things we will have to wait and see.

Throw the E3 reader in the bin, its pointless

No seriously, you don't need it.

Install the custom 3.55 firmware that's been talked about in this thread quite a bit (the thread is not that big ffs hehe) and be happy

edit: here ya go.

I just bought another broken PS3 to repair so I figure I may as well try this jailbreak stuff now. Not entirely sure what's happening now as a lot has changed since I last read anything on the subject. Last i heard Jailbreaking was done with USB things, or Iphones, Nokia, Androis, PSPs etc. now I see there's CFW sounds good to me.

Is there a good beginners guide I need to read to get up to speed.

Have a look at page 9, that's where a link was posted that will explain everything.

People like me who hate playing games with a keyboard.

I love online gaming on the ps3. Its basically why I got it for and why I wont risk jb'ing it.
