But if we see their scheming how are we supposed to be surprised when everybody dies, then?
The whole point is that anyone could die and you won't see it coming.

Although book readers know what's coming.

I don't miss the Starks, as they were getting progressively more boring

Well the entire plot is more about intrigues and politics and the Starks are not politicians (that`s the reason why I like them). They are military ,they are soldiers ,they are warriors.

Imo it was made fairly obivous that Robb had reached his full potential and had to go. A good enough commander and skirmisher but inept to see the bigger picture and act without emotion. Same with Catelyn, she was just a whiny bitch.

@alupigus

Yeah, "not all of them" but all except for Jon seem to have something going for them. I'm sure you know otherwise, but kidz.. I hope Arya will use that coin soon..

i still have no idea who these people that got killed really are, so i couldnt give another shit about their boribg lives being taken out of the series. more action in season 4 please, less storylines so my attentionspan can keep up. all their achieve with all these people is making watchers care less about the characters and more about what isnt there.

you dont know who these people that got killed are yet you want less storyline :hmm:
well i love it just the way it is... it's a drama fantasy, not action fantasy.

Should go back to playing COD maybe.

Hodor makes this show.

Edit:

without massively spoiling it for me, as I have not read the books, does anyone care to explain who the boy is that is holding Theon captive?

He is the bastard of Roose Bolton, Ramsay Snow, aka, Ramsay Bolton.

Yes... and then no.

There's a difference between telling one outright what you're planning to do, and hinting at it. I'd point to the ending of the first season once more (I'm boring, I know) - did Neds death surprise me? Yes. But air was heavy so I sort of knew something was going to happen.

Anyway, I'm starting to sound like a broken vinyl and feel like I'm repeating myself.

Let's just hope, now that the war plot is gone, the rest of the show doesn't go stale and boring.

PS. I can't quite grasp what's the role of the rest of the Starks. THEY AREN'T DOING ANYTHING! :fist: Yet the show keeps some focus on them as if they can actually do something. Well... DO SOMETHING ALREADY! Making Hodor fall asleep was as exciting as it sounds.

Well I don`t know if it`s a spoiler because it did not happened yet ,not even in the books but,
if they can take over a mans mind they sure can take over a dragons mind
...like I say It did not happened yet it`s just a theory of mine.

Watch the reaction when that guy says: " I read the books." Reminds me of this thread :-P

A good finale but not a great one.

Quite a few things have been set up but I wanted something with a "wow" factor in the dying few seconds.
The closing seen with Dany was boring.

#1533185 by sillent (Power User) at 2013-06-10 05:26:29 (1 month ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

completely agree. I think the episode as a whole was really solid, it was just misssing that last wow scene that made you go woahh wtf.

especially compared to season 2, I thought this finale was a lot better, minus the last scene. Not that the Dany scene was bad, it just should've been the second last scene.

The only scene  I liked from this episode was...

.. a mediocre finale for this season.

please tell me the pace rather picks up in terms of awesomeness in the later books?

#1533196 by Faiths24k (User) at 2013-06-10 11:07:32 (1 month ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

well we are still at book 3 and there will be some more "better" or "awesome" moments , but it will never be as "awesome" as the Red Wedding.

Dany was a bit stupid in the end there tbh.

She said something like "They might come to like their chains", then went into an unfamiliar crowd. All it would've taken was one loyalist or disguised guard with a hidden blade...
