I have no problem with "talking" I have a problem with silly forced dialogue and what seems (the book people can touch on this) almost every single storyline focusing around some sort of romantic relationship as if HBO is pushing this aspect to attract a female audience.

As far as I can remember there is a fair deal of romanticism in the books as well, but it doesn't have such a large part of the story, it's more of a background thing that evolves. Except in some of the story-lines, like Sansa's which was based on her relationship with Joffrey from the start. I think it's a matter of differences between mediums though, as there is some sort of romantic relationship in each of the story lines. However, it is easier to let it take a secondary place in the books. On screen it's more of either it's there or it's not.

And I agree, it can be a bit too focused on the romantic relationships in the series. In fact I have been a bit disappointed in this season so far. There are too many characters, so each get too little screen time to really flesh out their story. I am impressed with the Theon story-line though.

I think you hit a nail here. There`s some romance in the books but GRRM is a guy with a dark vision about life. He likes the color "black" and "grey" even in relationship. You are right HBO adds some "pink" to his visions.

I think that the planning of the weddings is a way of showing the cunning of the people planning it. Since the wedding is going happen anyway they convert the cunning of people like the grandma Tyrell toward the kind of dialogue she had with Tywin Lannister. If they would want to show it the way that the book has been written it would take shitloads of episode so even thou I find this season pretty meh and the book AWESOME I still think that they can tie season 3 and 4 into something epic when you turn back to look at it as a whole.

Tywin Lannister and that old lady are two of the only saving graces of this show for me. I am a sucker for scenes that involve such great verbal sparring as they try to maneuver the conversations, but unfortunately that is few and far between in this show as they always seem to go for that lazy schmaltzy dialogue way too much.

Yes and I think they are not moving in the right direction. There are a lot of "things in motion" ,much more characters than in previous seasons, many new faces ,many different plots. This season should have been more than 10 episodes long. Much more.

....just to make a point:

First book - A Game of Thrones - 672 pages (hardback) ..... Season 1 - 10 episodes ... it was good

Second book - A Clash of Kings - 708 pages (hardback).......Season 2  - 10 episodes .... it was OK

Third book - A Storm of Swords - 976 pages (hardback) ......Season 3 - 10 episodes ....it will be  mediocre.

I thought they had announced/confirmed that Book 3 will be split out to two seasons?

yeah the problem with this 3rd book split was that the first half of Storm of Swords had nothing except for Jaime getting his hand cut off. So they were in for a slow season, the question is whether or not they can setup enough stuff to properly deliver when we finally get around to season 4.

though, GoT even in the past has had good episode 9 + episode 10's -- so I'm expecting things to pick up.
Still though, for Season 3 I thought episode 4 + 5 were pretty damn good.

@Dexter about spartacus, if you could stomach ~4 episodes of that show, you would get used to the type of show it is and realize that its truly brilliant. The season finales and series finale was truly spectacular, haven't seen that level of epic in a while.

well there is the episode this evening then one week gap (inconsiderate American's and their holiday's and all) then Episode 09 which of course with the title "The Rains of Castamere" You know very well it's going to be the one we have all waited for.

As someone else wrote, I too cannot wait to see the looks on people's faces and hear the chatter the following morning.

The tits were her,  but the rear ass shot was most likely a body double.

what a great episode! for once the scenes didn't seem rushed.

The only thing I thought was a bit awkward was Cersei's story about the Castameres & the whole fakeout about Gendry about to be killed.

Everything else was just done really well. Solid episode -- only marginally behind episode 5 imo.

I'm wondering as to how high their budget is for every episode and how much does it cost
to show the dragons or the walkers. Last episode where they showed the whitewalker they didnt show the dragons even though the dragons are normally by Daenerys side. As a person who just watches the series i want them showing the dragons or the walkers or any of the "cool" stuff like the dire wolves

Was a pretty good episode, i really want to see why they keep showing us
the fat guy and the inbred chick.

Can somebody who has read the books tell me what happens in the end of the season? Not all of the info, just what happens in general.
Will we actually see the fire god at some point?

there's something i've been dieing to ask somebody who has read the books
when do the dragons become bigger?

Until now there are 5 books and he don`t appear....for now.

I think it will be season 5, because they really grow up in  the fifth book - A dance with dragons.

The episode summary said that Sam and Gilly meet an older gentleman :giggle:
I expected her to stop him and go back for the knife, but no...

so all it takes is a stab in the back? that particular area isn't even lethal..
disappointing.

for all we know it could take a cut in a finger -- its the dragonglass dagger that is lethal not necessarily the position of the body he stabbed him

I think that its what the walker is stabbed with rather than where it got stabbed.

Well, do you remember Stannis naming the leeches before tossing them into the fire? That's exactly what's going to happen.

Nope it was that dagger that kills him .It`s made from dragonglass. White walkers can be killed by dragonglass forged weapons.

Ah okey cheers!
Btw, anyone else finding the episodes without Jamie to be lackluster? he's by far been the best character to follow this season.

They have been focusing on him this season alot. I really like him but it's good to give his character some time to breath to build up expecations for episode 9 where he will be included for sure. Also it gave some oppertunity to give other characters some airtime! Wich I think was necceray, otherwise they would just fade away..

Not at all. This episode had much more going for it with fewer(!) characters than ep 7. Also no Rob Stark's wife talking forever. Nothing of that this week!

I really enjoyed this one.

No Bran, Robb or Theon scenes was a bonus.

why would she care about asS`?? vagina might be one thing, but ass? she show off the same ass when she is in a bikini or vacation ffs lol
dont understand why they would show her titties and then to replace her with a body double to protect her backside? it is not like she bend over and showed any lips ;(

family safe, only shows bottom, no breasts.

so these are body doubles?? :
