the ones who killed eachother at weddings :p haha.. I remember stark and the king talking about that they had an army but no ships..seems to be that you dont need ships? almost all land is linked?

I bet if you visit the HBO site that has a better map and the history of each house you can find where the horsemen live.

http://viewers-guide.hbo.com/game-of-thrones/#!/map/

In the opening credits, doesn't it show the horsemen living across the water from kings landing. So if you look at that map, which looks like the United Kingdom, then the savages live sort of northern europe way. Norway/Finland sort of.

EDIT: Here's what I mean, I'm sure the Dothraki are at Pentos in Episode 2, hence if they have no ships they cannot invade.

I really wanna know more about the white walkers? tell me..do they play a big role in this? Yes or No..

EDIT : For those that want to know..you can google game of thrones wiki

Its a site that explains most of the stuff..but they only go so far as the tv series..that is episode 2..

when we learn something new in episode 3..they will alter the wiki.. they dont use anything from the books..

you should check it out..its a cool site

Please forgive me if this is off-topic, but does anyone know what's up with the audio on the scene and non-scene releases? I've grabbed CTUs encodes which turned out to be stereo. Then I got non-scene encodes which were both tagged 5.1 and claimed to be 6-channel in the nfo, but these also turned out to be stereo.

Frustrated, I then grabbed a "direct stream copy" transport stream, this clocks in at 7GB and had the same good omens as the non-scene encodes; the nfo claiming 6-channel audio and tags confirming this. But no, it is stereo as well.

I googled a little and found no real answers, just a satelite dish owners forum with one guy having the same problem. Others had 5.1 EX (just to rub it in) coming from their HBO channels.

I haven't seen the eps yet, I'm currently re-reading the novels, a couple of chapters left in the first book. Hopefully they'll stay true without making the show as, shall we say, bleak as the novels are.

Intro is Stereo, episode is 5.1

yea, the dork in me could watch this stuff for hours, kinda pissed that it ends so soon all the time. 3 eps in and i'm still as interested in a tv show as i can be.  hopefully it doesn't drag on without some form of action or get really cheesy.

I'm so happy the way they've managed to cast this, particularly with Arya. Bwaha, I actually had tears in my eyes watching that final scene of episode 3!

I'm really loving the series and it makes me want to read the books badly. Any advice? Should I just start reading and spoil the tv show or watch the tv show and spoil the books?! Ahhhhhhhhhh the dilemma : (

I would recommend reading the books! Remember, each season = one book. So you might even have time to read them before season two starts! (Book three is actually split into two books). Book five is supposed to be released this summer…

while this is interesting it is so slow, I keep waiting for something exciting to happen but it never comes.
It's like slow burning political thriller with swords.
if it's not going to have any action then it should have more nudity

it's not going to get any better since that's how the books are, they are mostly about court intrigues, nobles' bullshit etc and a sword fight once a year which is rarely showed

the title for the series should be "game of thrones" like the first book's title, that would describe the series better than a song of ice and fire imho

edit: oh the tv series is actually called that way? apt name (but it isn't the actual books name)

edit2: actually, aside "court intrigues" and "nobles' bullshit" the books also have their fair share of young maidens getting brutally raped or simply working as whores, but that's about it

I'm not so much disappointed, as I said, I find it interesting. I was just expecting something different, I've never read the books and the way it was first promoted and with Bean cast in the main role I thought it would have more of an action type thing.

The books dont go into any vivid actionscenes really. It's more character-based drama and some suspense. All in all, I think the story unfolds way weird in the books. They're alright, but  could have been alot better.

The fact that he won't be able to complete the series before going senile or dying is also kind of a bummer.
