Her porn actress days are long over, by now she is a normal and well respected german actress of turkish decent.
She received the Deutsche Filmpreis twice, once in 2004 for her role in "Head On" from Fatih Akin and the second time in 2010. She even won Best Actress at Tribeca Film Festival. Well, I hope her accent is going to mean something at some point. Usually, all it tend to do is reminding me that Shae is being portrayed by someone who's first language isn't English. I get that is in line with her character, Shae from a far away land or something, so I hope it will play into the story of the show at some point. In that way it is being properly used.

the implication is enough for me, I dont need a deeper shae origin story. if, ok. if not, fine too.

I have to agree, I don't see how they could squeeze in her background story considering all the other main characters. I'd much rather see the red priestesses' history, if they do decide to show a side character's origin.

I have a question for someone who's read at least the fourth book. Don't want to go into the Song of Ice and Fire-thread because I'm afraid of spoilers beyond book four.

Is my memory seriously lacking, didn't Theon die, or at least it was implied that he died? Can't remember this current story arch about Theon being shown in the TV adaption, as a part of the books up til' the fourth at least. If it is part of book five or something, I don't want to know more than that. I'm just curious if I'm suffering from memory loss...

How are you guys who haven't read the books finding the series? Even though I've read the books I find the character introductions a bit messy.
