wow both sides need to stop being so butthurt.

No, the orphanage scene wasn't in the books... you know why? because marg isnt a POV character in the books.

the fact that they put the scene in could mean that they're trying to mislead you, or that they're just showing you something the book couldn't have because of its POV nature.

there have been plenty of other scenes that have been added, and the writers could have had multiple reasons for doing so. the writers have also made a lot of changes from the books, including completely pulling 180s on certain characters -- so book character traits aren't necessarily directly mapped onto show characters.

we dont have a POV for littlefinger, varys, or any of the tyrells in the books - so while we can guess.. we don't really know their true intentions.. so anything book readers say isn't an OMG SPOILER ALERT FUCK YOU BOOK READERS.

I think most book readers including myself, want to not spoil anything for TV only viewers so you can be almost as wow'd as we were when the big stuff happened.

no shit..I fail to see how saying "x scene was not in the book so I do not know what x person is up to" is some kind of spoiler. Some people are far too anal, I mean IF people who read the book wanted to spoil it for you they most seriously could. My wife won't watch it with me any more because when someone comes on the screen I say "don't get too attached to so and so cause they won't be around much longer" it's got to the point now that even characters who I know won't die I do that with just to piss her off

I think Ciaran Hinds it`s a good choice for Mance, he`s a great actor.I`m also happy to see Diana Rigg (ex Avengers girl Emma Pheel from 1968 series)

...as Lady Olenna Redwyne the Tyrell`s matriarch one of my favorite characters and by saying this I hope I`m not spoiling anything. :-P

let me be the first to congratulate you on reading the books and being able to name one of your favorite character's that has not yet been shown on the TV show and sharing it with the rest of us, we are all very impressed.

;-)

^ LOL.

Yes how dare you name an actress and the character she plays in a tv show. You could have atleast said spoiler alert before hand.

Or you know, reading a book is just so much work that anything we say which implies us having read the books means we are looking for people to congratulate us for being literate.

again people need to stop being so fucking anal about this. If someone say x scene is different from the book who gives a flying fuck?

If someone say "X person is going to die horribly" now that's a spoiler and should be kept out of either thread more than likely. You do realize most people who have read the books can ruin the next two seasons of this show for you by simply writing a few lines? My advice stop antagonizing them by being so anal.

If you peruse the forum rules there is no rule about spoilers it's only a courtesy thing, nothing more.

I have an innocent question. Let say that a member here have read the books.Let call this member A.Now imagine that A is an intelligent and generous guy and he want to share his knowledge about GOT with another member here who have not read the books.Let call this guy Q (this is absolutely random). It`s aloud for A to send a PM to Q with a short resume of the books?

....of course this is pure hypothetical.

"who gives a flying fuck ?", well read the entire thread and count how many

also if you read what I wrote again, that was a rule from ANOTHER TRACKER, not this one

also, yea, i sometimes pay 100euro extra for anal

I know those things. What I meant about people being anal is if you say the word "book" some people start fucking ranting and raving like little children.

Honestly it isn't as if I told you that Tyrion Lannister was going to die a horrible death this season did I?

Oops looks like I did

Say what you will but this thread would have descended into a self congratulatory book report had I not started being anal and calling you out for it. That said I have no fear of someone trying to blowup this show for me because of mutually assured destruction. On top of actually live blogging the episodes here, I read the comic and will blow what can easily be the next 10+ years of that in response - with pictures!

:rap:

I agree that there have been a few users with a few posts that have been bordering on spoiler alert which isn't good considering we have a separate thread for the books.

But when someone is going on a rant about how the writers ruined one of their favorite scenes, or completely butchered someones character because of changes they have ALREADY made, then there's no point crying. You're being as anal as the few posts that do occasionally crop up, but are doing so in response to a pretty harmless post which just so happened to contain the substring BOOK.

Maybe its just a rant by a purist, maybe it's because people want a discussion on the more active thread, maybe its because the person is wondering what non-book readers think about the change after reading about it and sharing their opinion on which version they would prefer seeing on TV.

It's not about mutually assured destruction. I'm pretty obsessed with this series, I've read all the sample book 6 chapters, and the prequel books too -- there's nothing you can spoil for me unless you've had a personal chat with D&D or GRRM and they've told you how the books end.

Like I said before, most of the book readers want you to enjoy the good moments that will surely be in a show that is as good as GoT. A lot of the ranting is just because we had been waiting X amount of time to see one of our favorite scenes come to life, and the show happened to butcher it (in our eyes) so we have a little rant, and wonder whether we're just overreacting or the book version was indeed better.
Especially since the writers often say that the changes are necessary when adapting it for TV -- which in some cases (like Dany's season 2 story) makes sense, but in other cases (like Jon's latter half of Season 2) doesn't.

No need for writing, all I have do to is to change my avatar with a certain picture.I never do that because I`m a nice guy.
...now I`ll go to write something about qbert95 , Belnick and Tidus in the other topic, the books topic and I dare them to come and answer me.:boxing:

Holy shit, Shae is a terrible actress. So cringeworthy.

NOT FOR qbert95's EYES:
I don't like how Brienne basically toyed with Jaime in the show
