I kinda like it (though I'm probably enjoying the Borgias more at this moment) but it's rather slow moving. The 100000000-page books weren't exactly thrillers most of the time either but I wouldn't mind more stuff happening. Or maybe it's because I always remember something and get these flashbacks of what's going to happen that I don't get as much story out of an episode as a newcomer would.

not at all..the Borgias has far more intrigue than action and that is what holds your interest.

It's really weird watching what appears to be British TV made by Americans. Is there any reason so much of the Cast are British seeing as it's set in a fictional world or is just that weird Lord of the Rings thing going down were it kinda looks like the middle ages, there's Swords & Sworcey = English

Anyway it's a good show, not great but enjoyable plus I fucking love the nudity more of that please!

could be down to American's stupid stereotype that a properly spoken English accent lends a character dignity and an air of education while the common American accent just sounds so common and lifeless in comparison.

Of course not all Sword and Sorcery films have British accents, hell Hollywood once even gave us an Austrian accented Cimmerian even

Its standard in American media for the British (BBC) accent to represent that a foreign language is being spoken that the audience just happens to understand. As VBG pointed out it would sound ridiculous if these actors had some heavy New Yorker or Boston accent. Don't you remember how ridiculous Kevin Costner was in Robin Hood with his non english accent?

Oh yeah of course we did & Red Sonja was Danish. You see they don't need to be English

Sure but Robin Hood is from England, this is a totally fictional Seven Kingdoms of Westeros I mean I haven't read the books but surely there's no real expectation about their accents is there?

I guess to me there's a whole heap of accents that would be OK, even a posh American. I mean Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Or just English speakers with various European accents would have been fine but I guess they went with what was easy and familiar.

Still I'm very glad that Sean Bean and Mark Addy aren't particularly posh, that's refreshing.

I guess the British accent "feels" more appropriate when we are talking about medieval knights etc even though it's set in a fantasy world.

I bet if you visit the HBO site that has a better map and the history of each house you can find where the horsemen live.

where's the magic?? seriously..

has anyone read the books? or atleast the first book? can you tell me if there is going to be more magic?

as far as I know..there are going to be battles at 3 different fronts..

1. Lannisters vs starks + everybody else.though this is going to be a discreet fight..you know..more of a lobbying battle..they try to influence and gather intelligence and fight eachother quietly..

2. the kingdoms (stark + baratheons)  vs the dothraki and the targeryans..

3. Whatever is happening at the wall? whitewalkers or whatever they're called.. they seem to be magical..you know like necromancers?? the little girl walking after she had been killed...

they will fight all humans???

I have a theory..I think necromancers(warlocks) are behind whitewalkers? or something like that.. since clearly the girl was under some kind of spell?

EDIT : tell me what you think..without spoiling everything ofc

Without spoiling why don't you take a look at this short clip and listen to what the author himself has to say about the magic in game of thrones : )
