You could have guessed the dragons would hatch at some point considering those eggs. I wouldn't really call that a spoiler. The actual spoiler on that pic is something else but I won't tell you what :fun:

I can't tell what's going on in the picture so it's not a spoiler.
She had 3 eggs for all of season 1, and there's 3 baby dragons in the picture.

I guess at the point where she put the eggs in the fire you might think they would hatch.  It still would have been nice to see the reveal @ at the very end of season 1 and not known it was coming.

It's like finding out what the Monster was in LOST before you finish the show.  Kind of ruined the whole ending.

LOLOLOLOL it's your own fault for being a season behind.
Don't blame the rest of the world if you are slooooooooooooooooooow.

It's like finding out that your favourite sports team won the championship....LAST season if you had taped the games and were watching them now. It's YOUR responsibilty to keep away from places you might find see things like that. Don't bitch at HBO about it.

Meh... seems weird whoever runs their Facebook page would want to ruin the season's big finale for anyone who just happens to be browsing the page.

In the civilized world, spoilers are usually marked as spoilers.  The dragon babies is probably the biggest spoiler from the entire season tbh and they have it sitting in a big image right on their facebook feed.  Dick move.  I should be allowed to watch the show at my own pace and not expect spoilers from the official GoT facebook page of all places.

And how is it my fault I didn't catch the show until late?  And why should I be punished for that by having things spoiled without warning?  If that's the case then WHY do spoiler tags exist at all?  Let's punish everyone, everywhere, for not keeping up with everything at all times.

Video games, books, movies... Let's just put spoilers everywhere and if you can't keep up it's your own fault!
Shameless.

YOU chose to go on a sight where people will be discussing things that happen in season 2 when YOU have not seen it? Do you think that was smart?

Hell people on this forum bitch about "spoilers" when someone posts something about an episode that happened THIS week let along a year ago. And I tell them what I am telling you. If you don't want to be spoiled...:STAY THE FUCK OUT OF FORUMS AND THREADS THAT ARE DISCUSSING THE SHOW" or maybe somehow you expect the rest of the world to wait around for you to watch it first?

It's like I don't want to know who won the football game last night...I recorded it and I am going to watch it later.

DO I go and watch the sports news on tv? Do I pick up the sports page of the newspaper? Do I go on the teams website?

no, No and NO I don't...Personally I avoid all of those things and anything else I think is going to spoil something for me...

It wasn't a "discussion" and it wasn't "people".
It was an image posted to the timeline by whoever runs the facebook.  There's a difference.

A timeline? Like things that have happened longe after the episode that you watched?

Fuck, are you for real? Season one ended over a year ago, dude.

Are you saying that no tv-show can have advertising with images spoiling two seasons ago? That's ludicrous, I completely understand your frustration but you have zero right to blame anyone. Just suck it up and unsubscribe to GoT on facebook.

TheBlues wrote:

Is it really so hard to use generic images from the show of people, places, etc and other unrecognizable things?  It can be a spoiler but if I don't know what I'm seeing then it doesn't matter (see the pic I posted).

Text spoilers especially comments, can't be avoided.  But putting large images of CLEAR and UNAVOIDABLE spoilers onto official GoT stuff is ridiculous.

By the way the main Game of Thrones website has the same image (3 dragons) largely displayed on their frontpage.  Nice.  On their website there aren't any spoilers, at least no Season 2 spoilers, you can tell they avoided it.  If you check their homepage you'll see characters and places (no spoilers there) and even the text is non-spoiler... just the 1 picture.

But I guess they forgot or since season 1 is so old, they put a giant season-breaking spoiler displayed in the middle of their website.

http://www.hbo.com/game-of-thrones/index.html
^ What if I was some random guy who never watched GoT before but was interested in some trailers and stuff?  What if I wanted to see if the show interests me before buying the blu-rays or whatever?  I go to their website and accidentally ruin the season finale for myself.  That is bullshit.  You're saying I can't go to their official site for trailers/info without hitting a spoiler?  And that's "okay" for you? lol.

More examples with NO SPOILERS.
Walking Dead http://www.amctv.com/shows/the-walking-dead
LOST http://abc.go.com/shows/lost/

Checked Heroes website, found a spoiler on their frontpage too; http://www.nbc.com/heroes/

Facebook timeline.  It's the website's layout.

psssssssssss A Year later it's NOT A FUCKING SPOILER anymore.

Nobody on this website...hell nobody in the world with the intelligence is going to back you up on this.

If I haven't watched last nights episode of Show X I don't go and visit their website or forums where it might be discussed UNTIL I have watched the episode and am up-to-date.

IF I go there I have nobody to blame but MYSELF and my STUPIDITY if I see something/read something that is a spoiler.

Also...It's NOT a big fucking spoiler...I am tempted as hell to put a HUGE fucking spoiler in here and start telling you who lives and who dies and what happens to them.

But I can't........BUT I sure can post pictures of dragons and what they are doing in that picture. The fact that they exist to anybody who has seen the eggs they must have been made clear to those of us who don't ride the short bus to school.

PS HBO is NOT responsible for you specially since you are not one of their paying customers. Someone who wanted to buy the blue rays etc I am sure unless they are retarded or just cannot overcome the temptation to click that button marked "SEASON FINALE" deserve what they get.

EDIT: if someone had never seen the show before saw that image it wouldn't be a spoiler at all since they have no clue what they are watching.

Now stop whinning and go catch up with the rest of the world or go live in a cave with the taliban and take your season one with you. :tease:

We should have a like button for me to like VBGs posts here... Why on earth should they not post pictures and still try to keep  up the hype between seasons? Should they have used the same fucking generic pics still people would go apeshit on the pictures since they're old and doesn't tease enough and complain that HBO doesn't try hard enough....

You pretty much have to be an idiot to go on a facebook page and then complain about spoilers if you haven't even watched half a season >_>

#1486368 by sillent (Power User) at 2012-07-09 20:34:12 (1 year ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

yeah, lets not use a picture with cool special effects and instead put up a generic face of a person..

I've read reviews on places like tv.com where the guy puts BIG ASS CLUES/spoilers to stuff coming in the up coming seasons, and tons more people read those reviews than our discussions on tb forums -- but if you put even a SLIGHT hint on upcoming seasons people lose their shit over here -- honestly.. get over it

im surprised some friend of yours didnt spoil the show for you since GoT is pretty big in terms of discussing with your friends..

if you're a year behind - there is nothing you can say short of unplugging your internet after buying the dvd. (BTW I wouldn't be surprised if season 2 dvd cover had major season 1 spoilers on it)
