I cant understand how you are all getting your panties wet over this crap, i've persevered and watched through all the episodes and they could have put everything so far into 2 episodes and made it more interesting, it's all dull filler.
If there wasn't going to be a lot of action there should at least be a little political intrigue to keep it interesting but everything so far is predictable and slow.
The books may have been good, I haven't read them, but as series it doesn't really work for me.

There are far too many characters and relationships (and the build-up for the 2nd season) for a 2 hour episode. The events that takes the plot forward can be squessed down to a 2 hour episode, I guess, but that would make it uninteresting because we would understand the motives for their actions less. I guess what I'm saying I don't think it's progressing slowly, but then again I haven't read the books, don't care either, and I enjoy the acting and character development more than "horse mutilation, tits and muff diving" :hmmm:

Even taking into account what you say at least 50% of what I have seen is meaningless filler or a pre story to what might be to come in future seasons.
The acting in general is good in this except sean bean who as always seems to act the same character but in a different outfit and I also enjoy a story taking time for character development but this seems to be stretching things out just for the sake of using up screen time making it seem overly slow.

Boromir I guess we will see if it is meaningless or not come next episode or next season. So far it has been the best show that I've seen in a long ass time.

there is nothing to carry this show forward if they remove the cool/good actors

You say you haven't read the books, and then you somehow knows that the episodes are filled with fillers...
How can you know that, so far everything has been important for character development and the general plot of the show.

You dont need to read the books to see that a lot of scenes are stretched out, and a lot of scenes are just to reinforce a part of the story or character development already covered at best, but probably just to use up screen time.

Actually, you do need to read the books to know if they've stretched something out or not, and from what i can tell they've actually compressed alot of the story.

It's a shame they made Tyrion look like such a punk in that battle. In the books he actually gets stuck in, killed a few people and then get smashed in the elbow with a mace.

He's one of my favourite characters actually, lovable little bastard that he is.

Well, I'll definitely keep watching...just to see the bad guys get their just desserts, it's a bit shit since Sean Bean is now gone. But, with his death, it opens doors for real revenge. Surely now there can be no peace between the North and the South? And especially none between The Starks and The Lannisters? I don't want anyone to post a spoiler or anything but I suspect Jamie will somehow escape the clutches of the Starks...for now at least...or when they hear about Ned, they'll chop him into tiny little pieces and feed him to the dire wolves? Either way, hold on...cause it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

Good to see I'm not alone in thinking Sean Bean only has one acting pose, that of a nervous and depressed warrior dude. Boromir, Sharpe, Ned Stark to name a few.
