I don't usually post on here, but after you posted Keyboard Milk, I felt compelled to contribute something. You made me discover Röyksopp and all I've been listening to for the past week are their songs.

I actually found them a couple years ago because they had some songs on my favorite Lounge albums called Supperclub.
They only had one album back then (Melody AM) and I bought it. After that I bought all their albums as they were released.

Here's my tiny review/opinion on them:

  • 2001 - Melody AM: The original Röyksopp, an incredible ride (likes: So Easy, Sparks and A Higher Place)
  • 2005 - The Understanding: A nice ride, but a lot more bumpy, not the quality that most people expect from them (likes: Triumphant (not very relaxing so I have to be in the mood), What Else Is There? and Someone Like Me)
  • 2006 - Röyksopp's Night Out (Live EP): Amazing live performance, very much in their style (likes: Poor Leno (Istanbul Forever Take) and 'Teppefall' (outro, very short, but one of the most pleasant sounds I can think of)
  • 2009 - Junior: Fresh, happy, loud and feel-good. Very pleasant album but sometimes it makes me nervous because of it's pace and loudness (likes: The Girl And The Robot, Röyksopp Forever, You Don't Have A Clue and Were You Ever Wanted)
  • 2010 - Senior: Dark, slow and super relaxing. Most tracks make you think about something, mostly about how beautiful life is or how hard it can be. They did a video clip competition for the tracks on this album and they choose the ones that sends out the message they want us to hear or see. The tracks (and clips they choose) seem dead serious and really makes you think. This isn't really an album for background music as it is so slow and (for some people) depressing. I just think that the tracks that I do like are one of the best I've heard from them and I gotta give them credit for the seriousness and the feelings that this album gives me. I will post links that have their official video clip included, they also posted notes on them why they choose that specific clip. (likes: ...and The Forest Began To Sing, The Alcoholic, Senior Living, Forsaken Cowboy (this was released as single that also included 'Keyboard Milk') and Coming Home)

    That was a bit more than a tiny review I guess, it became obvious to me that I like Senior the most

    First two: Not bad, but not special either (that's my taste of course)
    Boards of Canada: Found out about them not too long ago after watching this dance video (yes Dave Elsewhere is a freak, and a king), I have all their albums but haven't really started listening to them. Probably because most are kind of "weird" or just too slow so I'm usually not in the mood for it. They make really good music, that I do know.
